Philosophy’s Joyful Heart

I have the pleasure of going to a lot of events working here at TDO but very few match the significance of the Joyful Heart Gala, which I attended a couple weeks ago as a guest of philosophy. Joyful Heart Foundation is a philanthropy founded by Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay whose mission is to help survivors of child abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence through providing programs, guidance and support. The gala, hosted by Hargitay and her friend Debra Messing was inspiring but at the same time jarring and eyeopening. Supporters of the cause who were in attendance included Hilary Swank, Chris Meloni, Marcia Gay Harden, Peter Hermann, Ice T and Julianna Margulies. It was awe inspiring to be seated so close to these stars who so passionately supported the message of Joyful Heart.
The dinner concluded with a Christies’ auction led by socialite extraordinaire Lydia Fenet. Though my paddle, 521, safely stayed down the entire time, it was amazing to see how much people were willing to donate to help such a cause, even in today’s economic climate. Lunch with Debra Messing went for around $20,000. Hanging out with Alec Baldwin? A cool $28,000. And having Mario Batali cook you and your guests a four course truffle dinner? $65,000, sold not to one but two people.
But even if you don’t have a 5 figure charity budget, you can still help support the Joyful Heart Foundation and the important work that they do. philosophy has partnered with Joyful Heart to create the Joyful Heart Shower Gel and Body Cream each retailing for only around $20. 100% of net proceeds are donated to the the charity.
And as far as the product goes? It’s a new favorite in my bathroom. The peony scented products smell feminine and fresh and for the first time I tried the 3-1 shower gel as shampoo and was amazed at how soft it made my hair. If you’re already a fan of philosophy products, you will love their Joyful Heart Collection and in the process, help make a big difference for a very special woman.

What a great cause! This scent sounds lovely and the prices are very reasonable. I’ll have to check it out.
