The Art of Body Care

I’m always excited when brands that I already know that I love branch out and start making other products. I’ve loved Diptyque candles for a long time – if I had an unlimited candle budget, I would have one burning in every room at all times – so when I found out that Diptyque is now making products for the body, I couldn’t wait to try them out.
Out of the five products, my favorite is the Fresh Body Lotion in Orange Blossom. It’s described as “an exhilarating rush of orange blossom paired with petitgrain,” and it smells very clean and fresh (hence the name). It’s a great scent for a body lotion because it’s light enough not to conflict with any perfume you might wear, but still has enough of a fragrance to lightly scent your skin. The lotion isn’t greasy at all, but it worked great on the dry skin on my elbows.
My second favorite item in the line is the Creamy Body Wash in Olive Flower and Bay Laurel. It lathers up nicely and it’s a great morning scent; it’s soothing, but there’s a spicy sort of kick to it that’s fantastic at waking me up. I think it comes from the Bay Laurel, but whatever it is, I kinda wish I could add it to a few of the body washes I already own because it smells great.
The line also includes a Rich Body Butter in Turkish Rose. It’s a heavier moisturizer than the Body Lotion, but if you like floral scents, you’ll definitely want to check this one out. There’s also a Luxurious Hand Balm in Apricot and a must-have for you bathing beauties, Body & Bath Oil in Iris. All it takes is a few drops in your bath water and the medley of refined, organic oils (sweet almond, argan, and macadamia nut) will take over and soften and protect your skin. (And as a bonus, unlike when you use a bath bomb, you won’t have to clean out the tub afterwards!)
The Art of Body Care line is available now at the Diptyque stores in San Francisco and in New York (recently opened at 377 Bleecker Street), as well as other Diptyque retailers such as BigelowChemists.com, Beautyhabit.com, Saks.com, and RonRobinson.com.
