Celebrities, Denim & Jeans, FashionJET Jeans

I had heard about JET Jeans, but didn’t really pay much attention until reading Fashionista.com‘s rave. Then my curiousity was piqued. Skinny jeans that don’t stretch out after four days? That’s pretty amazing. So when I got the opportunity to try them, I totally jumped on it.

JET Jeans is founded by John Eshaya, the former VP, Creative Director and Buyer for Fred Segal – so he had a hand in making it one of the most influential and well-known boutiques in Los Angeles. Anyone who has been to Fred Segal knows that they have a wonderful selection of clothing that are always trendsetting. Naturally, JET Jeans follows this tradition that John set in motion at his former position.

Now I’m not normally the type to wear ripped jeans because I believe in the philosophy of jeans wearing out naturally, and moreover, my personal style tends to favor clean dark denim (which we’ll get to shortly).  But when I saw the Thrashed style, I just had to try them.  They look amazingly cool, even though they’ve been ripped on purpose.  Although I’m petite, the rips still fall in natural places along the legs. I feel like they push my fashion boundaries a bit.  I love them so much that I’ve been raving about them to friends!  Side note: I’m still figuring out the best pieces from my wardrobe to wear with this style though, since it’s a little out of my comfort zone. (What would you wear them with? Got suggestions? Send ’em over!)  So far, they’ve been paired with my Modern Amusement shirtdress and flats.

I also was lucky enough to try the Dark Clean Skinny, which is more reflective of my typical denim preferences. As much as I love the look of the Thrashed, I’ll confess that these will probably get more wear – and in fact, I’ve been rocking these with my short trench in the evenings a lot.   I love the clean dark blue wash and the fun lighting bolt back pocket. They really make legs look so long! This style offers a skin-tight fit, but there’s a little stretch (a must for any jeans I buy) so you’ll have no problem wiggling into these. I usually have difficulty finding jeans to tuck into boots without the knee scrunching effect; these are really perfect for that look because they don’t bunch up. I also think they look wonderful with high, high heels or flats.

FYI – The jeans are offered in a size 0-8, which in my opinion means that if you’re used to buying premium denim, any girls over size 30 may not fit into this line.  I’m a curvy borderline petite girl and still was able to wear mine (size 8 – um, can’t believe I just actually wrote that for you all to read) comfortably because of the stretch – so if you get a chance to try them out before ordering, I’d recommend that.

Unlike the Fashionista editors, I can’t testify on the four-day test because I just don’t have enough patience to wear the same pair of jeans for that long – but I can say that they mold easily to the body without stretching out.  If you’re a denim lover and looking for a new pair of skinnies, this is definitely a line to try. And in addition to my own rave review, there are a ton of celebs who love the brand, too. Oh, you want to know who?  Well, their celeb following includes Nicole Richie, Christine Aguilera, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Nicky Hilton and many others.

JET Jeans are available at Fred Segal in Santa Monica. Or you can order directly from the JET website or Snger22.com!

I love JET jeans! You HAVE to try the rest of the line; all of the pieces pair well with skinnies! The blanket is another must have!
