Summer With Too Faced
I can’t complain too much about summer finally being here because I live in L.A., so even the cold days are kind of nice. But even with all the great weather out here, I still get excited when the summer rolls around because that means that it’s time for summer makeup again. I love everything about summer colors, especially the fact that they look good with a tan. (It may come out of a bottle, but still…) I recently got a chance to try out some of Too Faced‘s new summer products and I’m loving all the bronze goodness!
Too Faced has always had a wide variety of great bronzers and their new Pure Bronze Mineral Bronze continues that tradition. It’s a loose powder that comes in a jar with a sifter lid, so you can control how much you use at one time. (Great for a bronzer because you can look really silly if you overdo it!) The powder is made out of natural minerals and authentic crushed fresh water pearls, which is used to heal and protect skin. The crushed pearls also diffuse light, which helps to make the bronzer light up skin in a more natural way. I liked this bronzer a lot – it comes in one shade, Golden Bronze, but it’s meant to work with all different skin tones and it looked great on my pale skin. I used it sparingly and it made my skin look tan and glowy. One thing that I noticed about it – it definitely has a tiny bit of shimmer to it. Nothing major, but if you’re someone who likes your bronzer on the matte side, it’s just something to be aware of.
Blush is one of those products that I don’t always get excited about… until I find one that I like and then I remember what a difference it makes when I’m wearing a good one. The Brightening Blushes come in three shades that just like Pure Bronze are meant to flatter all complexions. Mocha Mi Amore is a mocha brown, Papa Don’t Preach is a soft peach, and Pinch My Petals is a pale pink. They all go on sheer, which is great for the warmer weather, and are paraben free, so they’re good for your skin too. I like them all, but my favorite is definitely Papa Don’t Preach. The peach shade looks great layered on top of Pure Bronze and it gives my cheeks a totally natural looking color that I’ve been pairing with a nude gloss and brown shadow for a quick and easy summertime look.
I own a ridiculous amount of lip glosses, but the new Liz Bronzers will definitely be coming wherever I go this season. The glosses come with two different colors in each tube and you squeeze from the bottom to evenly apply a mixture of the two to your lips. The shades are semi-sheer and meant to go with any of Too Faced’s bronzers, but they look equally as good on pale skin. The glosses have Vitamin E and essential oils in them so they’re really moisturizing – perfect for summer. But my favorite thing about them is their flavor – they all have this amazing chocolate scent that’s totally addicting. I find myself constantly reapplying even when I already have some on just because I like the scent so much. The three shades are Sun Bunny, a golden bronze mixed with seashell beige, Snow Bunny, an icy pearl and fawn, and Pink Leopard, a sparkly tan mixed with popsicle pink. I don’t have a favorite one of these, but that’s only because I like them all too much to pick between them. (This must be how parents feel!)
