Accessories, Denim & Jeans, Fashion, Jewelry, ShoesEditor’s Closet: July 2009

ONE. Level 99 Chambray Jaylen Jeans – If I have to wear jeans in the summer, they’ve got to be light and comfortable. These Level 99 jeans are super lightweight and I love the wide-leg, loose fit. The cut and detailing on these jeans make them more stylish, not sloppy as you’d think most wide-leg jeans would be. I usually wear mine with a tank top or loose tee and some long necklaces for that put-together casual look. (Of course, if you are short like me, you will have to get them hemmed, but they will still look fantastic!)

TWO. Prismera Design Fuchsia Earrings – I adore the floral designs in Prismera Design’s collection of jewelry. My favorite right now is the gorgeous, elegantly shaped Fuchsia earrings. The outline of the flower seems a little exotic and mysterious, but as you look closer, you can see how delicate and intricate it is. The earrings are actually made of stainless steel, which is sustainable material, and part of Prismera’s vast selection of eco-friendly creations. The stainless steel also makes them easy to maintain and clean, which is excellent for an irresponsible jewelry owner like me.

THREE. Gap Cuffed Cardigan – This short-sleeved cardigan is just right for me during the summer. Sometimes I need an extra layer when the AC indoors is at maximum blast! The cuffed sleeves are just the right amount of casual and the bright white color will go with anything. I like that I can layer it over a tank top and look appropriate for work, or wear it over a sundress when I need a little more coverage. It feels light and comfortable either way.

FOUR. MAXSTUDIO Xchange Sandals – I was looking for a new pair of espadrilles on Zappos and came across these lovelies instead. I’m so glad I did, because I get compliments on them all the time. They instantly dress up any outfit I’m wearing, and I think the rich Tobacco color accentuates your tan and makes your legs look just a bit longer. Like most MAXSTUDIO shoes, I found them to fit really snugly, so you may have to go up a half size. I find that my feet tend to slide down anyway as I wear them more, so I stuck with my size and they look great!

FIVE. BCBG Max Azria Strapless Ruffle Dress – I actually picked this dress up at the BCBG on Oak St. during a sale for $68! I was looking for a cute, colorful dress to wear to a wedding and thought that this dress was perfect for summer in general. I love the bright blue color and the soft modal material. It doesn’t cling to the wrong areas and overall has a skimming effect. The one tier ruffle and empire waist tie add some more feminine detailing, and I love how the dress swings when I dance. (Please excuse me looking a little tipsy in this photo; I was at a wedding.)

Wide leg jeans enhances your figure and makes you look tall. You can even wear it casual, corporate, or street style. You have to get one on your closets.

    Cheers,
    John
