Glossy Pencils

I’m not normally a fan of pencil lip products because they just never seem to go on nicely for me, but I love Poppy King, so when I got the chance to try her Chinatown Glossy Pencils, I jumped at it.  These jumbo-sized pencils remind me of crayons and they’re just as fun to play around with.  The bright, sheer colors are a cinch to apply and the fat tip makes it easy to get the color exactly where you want it.  Unlike most pencils, these are super moisturizing, which makes me very, very happy.  My main problem with pencil shades is that they’re usually so dry that you need to carry around a separate gloss, but that’s not at all the case with these.  They keep my lips soft and smooth and the colors are perfect for summer.  These are the five available shades:

I tested out Crime and Thriller and I love both of them – the colors are vibrant and make your lips look like you’ve been eating a popsicle.  Each of the pencils comes complete with a jumbo-sized sharpener, which is very handy, and is packaged in a box with original artwork that was inspired by the film “Chinatown.”  (All the shade names were inspired by that classic film as well).

Chinatown Glossy Pencils retail for $20.  Visit lipstickqueen.com or barneys.com to purchase!
