A friend recently told us about Jennifer Elizabeth, a line of jewelry by New York-based designer Jennifer Amenta; when we saw all the pieces on the recently launched site, we also felt compelled to pass on the tip. We love all the collaborations that Urban Outfitters is doing with various designers. The latest is this gorgeous tank by Lucca Couture. Crinkly silky purple is layered over black; a black band wraps around the empire waistline. The top features a a scoop neck in the front and a racerback in the back; the zipper in the back adds a sporty feel to an elegant dressy top. You can easily dress this up or down; we think it would look fabulous with skinny jeans and heels. What would you wear this with?

For the upcoming fall season, one of my favorite handbag lines, NYC-based Magnes Sisters, has some great designs coming soon. I got a peek at their fall line sheets and am so excited to see the new bags. We’ve got a little preview for you, as well. The Starlight clutch, pictured above, is new for the season and already available for purchase in blue. It’s the perfect oversize clutch with a detachable chain, so you can wear it over your shoulder if you’d like. I like the detailing in the gold hardware, and the leather looks gorgeous. The blue is a great shade for fall, too–and Starlight will also be available in taupe, black, and purple. Yes! Such a thing really exists!  I checked it out on Thursday and it was legit.  Spotted goods that I had spent full price on and the selection was huge.  I scored a ring, a necklace and a bracelet for $700 total – that’s less than what I had spent on just one item before. Sample sales are known for marking prices down even further to clear out their inventory towards the end, so make sure to stop by this weekend!!

It’s almost shocking how much difference a good set of brushes can make to your overall look.  They make foundation look more natural, blend eye shadows seamlessly, and help to create the perfect smokey eye.  I always get a little overwhelmed when I’m shopping for brushes though – there are so many, I’m never quite sure what ones I really need.  Luckily, Sephora came to my rescue (don’t they always?) with their new Color-Dipped Brush Collection.  It’s made up of five different brushes that are all dual-ended, giving you two brushes for the price of one.   They’re really cute too – the brightly colored bristles are so cheerful and fun and they look great sitting on top of my vanity.  Here are the different brushes in the collection: (more…)

I got a lovely treat last night from the folks over at InStyle- their September issue, Fedexed to me with sticky tabs on the pages that highlighted the editor’s top picks for fall! Now, as you know, fall is by far my favorite season for fashion.  I love the variety, the textures, the colors, the layering, everything. Not to mention, it’s a real plus when your clothes aren’t drenched in sweat after a few minutes in the sun.
