Cristalle Eau Verte

Chanel’s new Cristalle Eau Verte EDT is definitely a fresh, sophisticated addition to the fragrance line. Perfumer Jacques Polge created Cristalle Eau Verte as a lighter, fresher re-imagining of the classic Cristalle fragrance–a formidable task since the original versions already have quite the following. Cristalle Eau Verte features citrus lemon notes, Neroli, and magnolia, among other floral essences that are supposed to linger on lightly.

I’ve only tried the original once, and it was so long ago that I can’t quite remember how I felt about it. So, I had to approach Cristalle Eau Verte with a clean slate. That was fine with me though, as I ended up loving the scent! The citrus top notes are really fresh and crisp and gradually fell away to a light, yet slightly sweet, floral. I think it’s an ideal summer to fall scent–fresh with floral, and not overly sweet. Have you tried Cristalle Eau Verte, and do you think it stacks up to the original?
