All Doll’d Up

What girl doesn’t have a memory of playing with a Barbie doll? I had a few that I used to carry everywhere with me when I was younger, and I definitely used to play pretend wedding with them and my Ken doll. (Embarrassing? Just a little bit!) So I was super excited to check out Stila’s new Barbie Loves Stila collection for fall. The collection was inspired by looks that were created for Barbie’s first ever runway show at New York Fashion Week last fall. The shades are bright and colorful and come in adorable packaging with images of Barbie on top. They’re so cute you’ll want to display them instead of hiding them away in your makeup drawer!

I could easily buy the entire collection, but my number one pick from it is the All Doll’d Up Palette. It’s a refillable compact that comes with a whopping four eye shadow trios in bold shades. (The blues and grays are my favorite). For only $28, that’s twelve shadows – almost an entire eye wardrobe – and you can easily tuck the palette into your bag for a weekend trip. So cute!

Stila’s Smudge Pots are my weakness; I probably have about seven of them, so it’s not really a surprise that I would covet all three of the new Barbie Loves Stila ones. There are three available – Cobalt Clutch, a blue with blue shimmer, Purple Pumps, a purple with pink shimmer, and Little Black Dress, a black with pink shimmer. I’ve tried out Little Black Dress and it’s perfect for a night out. It’s a smoky black with a twist of pink in it that catches the light when you move. It’s unexpected and fun – definitely a winner.

For lips, the collection also offers a Lip Enamel Trio. It’s three intensely pigmented, high-shine glosses in Joy (red), Happiness (Light Pink), and Tickled Pink (Power pink) for only $32, which is a great price for three basic colors that you’ll be able to wear anywhere. There are also three Lip Glazes available – a Pale Pink, a Bright Pink, and a Red. (Is it weird that I want all six? Probably).

To round out the collection, there’s a Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner, an intense carbon black that was created especially for the Barbie collection. It’s a marker-like pen that lets you create dramatic looks without smudging or running. (I suggest layering it with one of the Smudge Pots for even more drama).
