Concept Salon

What: Inphenom Treatment, a Japanese deep hair conditioning treatment designed specifically for colored hair, to add shine and softness and rejuvenate it to its natural condition.

Where: Concept Salon, 1107 2nd Avenue, New York, NY

When: M: 11-6, T-Sat 10am-8:30 pm, Sunday 12-5pm

Why: I haven’t been able to get out of my daily hair washing routine, even though I know that washing your hair daily is a bad habit that strips it of natural essential oils.  This bad habit has wreaked even more havoc on my hair since coloring it, and it was getting to the point when I could feel and hear that uncomfortable dry-swish swish sound when I rubbed the ends of my hair against each other.   The Inphenom treatment, was just what my hair needed.  Newly available stateside at the Concept Salon, thanks to insider knowledge from  Helio de Souza and Andrea Piccolo, this magical formula comes straight from Japan and retains both color and moisture by filling in the damaged holes inside the hair and between the cuticle layers caused by repeated color processing.   With a reported 75% of women who color their hair, it’s evident that this is a much needed treatment.

The treatment takes between 15-30 minutes in the sink, and is a 5 step process that includes opening the cortex, and nourishing and replenishing the cuticle.  You don’t have to do anything during the process besides resting your head back, getting your head massaged and having your hair rinsed.   Afterwards, my hair felt the softest it has ever felt, with a different, incredibly smooth texture that I could feel even while wet.

After blowing out my hair, I could see the difference in an even more pronounced way.  Normally, I skimp a little bit on conditioner because I fear that it weighs down my hair, but after this deep conditioning treatment, my fine hair had phenomenal volume, and was still miraculously silky soft. My brittle and dry ends were gone, and my locks were finally tangle-free, something that doesn’t ever last very long with my long hair. I was told that because of the deepness of the treatment, I wouldn’t even have to use conditioner on my hair for the next 2 weeks.  For the next 2 weeks, I dutifully listened and didn’t touch any conditioner.  For the record, I never blow dry my hair and only air dry (most attributed to laziness), and the volume in my hair was still there 2 weeks later, fluffily showing off the layers of my hair.

I was also given a take home kit, containing some deep conditioning paste to prolong the effects of the treatment, so it’s now been 3-4 weeks and counting, and I still love the effects.   I’ve been loving the returned and renewed shine to my hair, that I haven’t seen since I had jet black hair, pre-color.  Check out the results of my hair here from a rainy and windy night out, and see how my hair held up!

As a special treat for Daily Obsession readers, Concept Salon is offering a free Inphenom treatment to every person who comes in to color their hair and mentions TDO–rush to get this treatment done to your hair!  Your thirsty, dry locks will thank you and you will feel the difference immediately.

Hi Stef–the treatment doesn’t change the color of your hair. It’s specially formulated for colored hair, so it just adds shine and moisture. The treatment is free if you get your hair colored there!
