Hunter Lingle and Jennifer Dixon are the faces and founders of Hunter Dixon, a gorgeous line of women’s clothing based in New York. While Hunter is the principal designer, Jen works on developing their business (as well as modeling their pieces!). Combining their backgrounds in fashion and entrepreneurship, they created Hunter Dixon to design whimsical, flirty, and feminine clothes for women. Their clothes have been seen on everyone from actress Lake Bell to PR powerhouse Alison Brod, and everywhere from the Today Show to the Sex and the City movie.
Hunter Dixon clothing is stylish and classic, with meticulously thought-out details and touches–whether it be the perfect ruffles, buttons, or fabrics. I’ve been lucky enough to own a few pieces in my own closet, and I can say for sure that they are classics that will last. As their brand rises and grows, Hunter and Jen recently took the time to tell us their obsessions and what inspires them as designers.
ONE. Oasis BA — We love to travel and Buenos Aires is such a wonderful place for Hunter to be inspired to design an upcoming collection and for us both shop, meet with potential store buyers, and explore another culture’s trends. Instead of staying in a hotel, we have found the best way to experience Buenos Aires is in a luxury rental. A week stay is comparable to maybe a night or two at five star hotel. Oasis BA is the best site, easy to use, and it allows you to rent luxury apartments all over the city. This is an exceptional gem of a property.
TWO. Katherine Kwei — Kathy’s handbags are truly unique, magical, and timeless. We both have three or four of her beautiful bags. Jen’s favorite is the black snake skin clutch with swarvoski crystal. Hunter’s favorite is the Teresa [pictured], which Jen actually loves and has as well!
THREE. Star Vodka — We both try to stay away from gluten; this vodka is gluten-free and the smoothest vodka around. It is filtered through volcanic lava rock five times and only small quantities are produced to ensure quality and a smooth product. It actually beat Grey Goose in a taste test. We like to mix Star Vodka, champagne, and ginger for a super fun, refreshing cocktail for our trunk shows! It’s a remarkable brand on the rise that is only available at the finest clubs and restaurants in New York. It’s available online for those not in New York.
FOUR. Hunter Dixon “Peppy” Jacket — This light weight peplum wool jacket is one of Hunter Dixon’s signature pieces. It is tailored with a twist: black, gray, crimson, purple. Hunter designed it for Fall 2008, but it was so popular that we brought it back for Fall 2009. Please contact email@example.com for the stores nearest you to try a Peppy.
FIVE. Prada shoes — There, we said it – the devil loves Prada, and so does anyone else in fashion! There is a method to the madness. These shoes are worth the splurge, as they really stand the test of time, especially if you choose a more classic color or style. Jen has pairs that she’s had for nearly 10 years that don’t look a day over a week old. Hunter just got two the other week! “Investment pieces,” we tell ourselves.
