Clarisonic PLUS
I’m a huge fan of Clarisonic. I used the original one every single day for over a year until recently, when it suffered a quick and painful death due completely to the fact that I am a total klutz and have an extremely hard bathroom floor. (I also managed to kill my T3 hair dryer this way a few months ago. I really need to stop trying to get ready in such a hurry because it’s costing me a lot of money!) I was Clarisonic-less for a few weeks and very, very unhappy about it, so when I got the chance to try out the new Clarisonic PLUS, I couldn’t jump at the chance any faster.
There are two big differences between the “old” Clarisonic and the PLUS version. The old version had only one speed, while the PLUS has three different levels of cleaning that you can adjust even mid-cleansing if you’d like. It’s a simple press of a button, so if you’re in the middle of cleansing and decide that you actually need to deep clean your skin, two clicks later, you’re doing just that. The other big difference is that the PLUS comes with an additional body brush that you can switch out with the face brush to use on any areas on your body that you’d like to give a good exfoliation too. (I like using it on my elbows, knees and ankles to keep those areas as smooth as possible). What’s really great about the body brush is that since the PLUS is rechargeable and waterproof, you can just take it into the shower with you, so there’s no worrying about getting cleanser all over your bathroom. I like taking it into the tub at night and then putting on a thick moisturizer before getting into my pajamas – my skin feels so soft in the morning, it makes the extra few minutes of effort totally worth it.
And of course, like the original version, the PLUS is just a great addition to your skin care routine. There’s a reason I fell in love with it in the first place and the new version is even better than the old one. The sonic vibrations in the brush help clear pores, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, cut down on any oily patches, dry skin areas, or blemishes you might have, and in general, make your skin just overall smoother and brighter. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to washing my face the regular way – the Clarisonic makes my skin feel so clean, it just takes away all the dirt and grime that builds up on it over a day spent running around in the Los Angeles air. I’ll definitely be extra careful with this one and make sure it survives as long as possible!
