Roopal Patel for Le Metier de Beaute

Fashion Week is usually that time of the year when I try to fit my entire life into a Chanel 2.55- one of the chicest accessories a gal can tote while trying not to seem too frazzled running all over the city.  It’s pretty difficult, but I usually manage, taking only the bare essentials and a single tube of lipgloss.

Shortly before Fashion Week this past September, I was gifted Le Metier de Beaute’s limited edition Roopal Patel palette, an exclusive at New York’s Bergdorf Goodman.  Despite, what looks like bright and crazy colors, I learned how to mix them in order to create virtually any look for day or evening.  Le Metier’s powders are such high quality and so finely milled that they “sit” in top of each other creating a kind of dimension, complexity and color that is rarely seen in other makeup lines. For example, while the orange and the yellow may look jarring on their own, combined they produce the most beautiful shade of golden bronze. Any color on the palette can also be made into  a blush or a lip color simply by mixing the powder with a dab of the clear “Magic” gloss.  Needless to say, with all the colors presented in the palette, the variations are endless.  I, like I am with most Le Metier products, was instantly obsessed.

But there was one problem.  This palette couldn’t fit into my Chanel 2.55- in fact, it was practically the SIZE of my Chanel 2.55.  What’s a girl to do? I obviously decided that it was imperative I have my Roopal Patel palette with me all week because for the first time ever, I put away the Chanel and dug up some old Balenciaga I don’t even like anymore- for the sole purpose of toting my palette around! My friends found it hilarious when I whipped out this giant palette for pre show “touch ups” that they snapped a picture of me modeling it.

Let’s just say that this palette is more suited for your at-home morning/evening makeup regime than for anything “on the go.”  But the beauty obsessed don’t always listen to conventional wisdom.  The Roopal Patel palette is only available at Bergdorf Goodman in New York (call 212-753-7300 and ask for Le Metier de Beaute) but their eye and lip kaleidoscopes (same formulation) are available online (and much easier to fit into a Chanel 2.55.)

You look great though!

You look amazing! Are all the colors on your face from the palette? Did you have to bring along separate brushes or can the colors be applied with your fingers?

yup! all the colors are from the palette. i just use my fingers for cheek and lips. and i think i had a brush in there for my lids.

Kate- so sorry to hear about the foundation :( Maybe try Armani? That’s another favorite of many ppl tho I can’t personally vouch for it.
