A Philosophy Holiday: Smell So Good

Philosophy has created some fantastic gift set options to choose from this Holiday season, that are of the edible and non-edible scent variety, and beautifully packaged for low maintenance gift options, none of which cost more than $40! Their theme this year is old time Christmas movies, with packaging that is extremely evocative of the Holiday season, and vintage inspired pictures that remind me of TMC Christmas movies like A Christmas Story, containing home baked scents you would find in Grandma’s kitchen. Below are my top picks:
1. Philosophy Classic Cookbook - Great for gifting to a true Philosophy lover, this has 6 different versions of their luscious, signature 3 in 1 shower gel, bubble bath, and shampoo. The 6 included scents are among their most delectable, with Pumpkin Spice Muffin, Red Velvet Cake, Double Rich Hot Cocoa, Warm Pear Cobbler, Gingerbread, and Cinnamon Buns. I know from experience that the Pumpkin Spice Muffin and the Cinnamon Buns are some of their most scrumptious scents. The set currently costs $35.
2. Snow Mittens and Gloves – For people that like the moisturizing properties of Philosophy products but don’t like smelling like food, try out Philosophy’s First Snow scent, developed especially for the holiday. The smell is a fresh, crisp, water based
scent and is also featured in their Philosophy “First Snow” Gift Set. Snow Mittens and Gloves is designed to tackle the winter problem of dry hands and feet, with a separate hand cream and foot cream. Like all good hand creams, Philosophy’s is non-greasy, medium weight formula, that sinks and is quickly absorbed into the skin for maximum dryness alleviation. This set currently retails for $20.
3. Philosophy The Winter Escape – This gift set reminds me of cold ski nights, with the classic winter combination of Peppermint Hot Cocoa and Marshmallow. Beautifully packaged in a log cabin inspired container, this set contains a travel size Peppermint Hot Cocoa Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath; Marshmallow Cream clear Lip Shine; and Marshmallow Cream Body Souffle cream, which is perfect for transporting for a weekend skin getaway. The Peppermint Hot Chocolate smells just like one of my favorite Starbucks special Holiday drinks, Peppermint Mocha. This set currently costs $25, and you can also purchase the Philosophy Peppermint Hot Cocoa Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath 16 oz separately.

4. Philosophy The Travel Agent The Travel Agent Set- For fans of Philosophy’s line of excellent skincare, this is a great set to introduce to a friend or to get travel sized editions of your favorites, as every bottle is only 2.0 ounces, and is contained in a TSA friendly clear, zipped bag, to prevent further leakage. Within this container are the popular Philosophy favorites with their Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser, a 0.4 tube of the Hope in a Jar, Amazing Grace Shower Gel, Amazing Grace Firming Body Emulsion, and Amazing Grace Hair Conditioner. I highly recommend the Amazing Grace scent, which I like for its cleanness, it has the pureness of fresh laundry.
5. Philosophy Party Girl - One of my favorite scents is the Pomegranate Bubbly, which is a yummy, berry-champagne inspired scent, that envelops my whole bathroom every time I use it, that isn’t too cloying or sweet. It contains a 4 ounce version of the Pomegranate Bubbly shower gel, a 4 ounce of the shimmer body lotion, and a tube of the lip shine with is a beautiful sheer plum lip shine. I have naturally more pink tinged lips, so I love this plum color for the additional dimension and depth to my lips. The set retails for $35.
