It’s hard not to admire Lauren Luke. She started out just like many women out there, posting makeup and beauty video tutorials as a self-taught makeup artist. Her skills and personality gained her a huge following, and now with over 56 million views on YouTube, Lauren has her own makeup line called By Lauren Luke. The collection consists of a series of palettes that contain all you need to easily create a look. I tried the Smokey Classics kit to achieve smokey eyes for a date night and was really happy with the results! Here’s what’s in the palette:

The palette also comes with a huge mirror, which is a big plus, and an extra sheer lip gloss. I loved the eyeshadows and eyeliner in particular, as they were so easy to apply using my fingers or just some basic brushes. The Twilight Ash shadow is black with an element of shimmer and sparkle, which added dimension and depth to my eyes. The primers did their job and applied really smoothly as well. The lip colors are really pretty and remind me of ripe berries. And of course, Lauren posted a tutorial of her own on how to achieve the Smokey Classics look.
