Rosebud
Like most teens in the 90′s, my musical tastes were highly unevolved and pretty limited to pop, specifically of the boy bander variety. I could never decide whether I liked N’Sync or the Backstreet Boys more, but I had a clear favorite individual between the 2 bands: Justin, always and forever. Clearly I picked a winner for the long haul (where is Kevin Richardson now?) and looking back, realize that although I clearly favored one over the other, there weren’t many differences between the various boybanders.
Similarly, just like everyone had their favorite boybander despite the lack of obvious differences, I find that a lot of my friends prefer one colorless, drugstore chapstick over the others, although they appear to be identical. Carmex, Kiehl’s Number 1, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter: there are subtle differences between them all, but my favorite is Smith’s Rosebud Salve, which now comes offered in a brand new tube format.
I love the slight rose tinge it gives my lips and its non-gloppy, non-sticky, smooth, and glossy texture. Its extreme moisturizing capabilities work its soothing magic on cracked winter cuticles and are the quickiest at transforming my lips from dry to pillowy soft. Although the salve is offered in a variety of scents such as mint, brambleberry, menthol and eucalyptus, mocha rose, and strawberry, my favorite is the original classic, the lightly scented rosebud.
Depending on how you feel about the old tin format, the new tube format is great because you no longer have to scrounge and dig deep into the salve pot for product, coating your nails and fingertips. It also allows you to control exactly how much product you dispense so that you don’t waste any of that precious goodness, and makes it a lot easier to share. Admittedly, it seems like you do lose 0.3 ounces of product by converting from tube format (0.5 ounces) to tin (0.8 ounces,) but switching to the tube is still worthwhile for me since I tend to waste more product with my scraping-product methods with the tin. You can now find Smith’s Rosebud Salve in tube format for $6 at beautyhabit.com.

I am a HUGE fan of the original Rosebud Salve and have been hoping they would release it in tube form. This is awesome!
