Editor’s Note: Starting December 31, we’ll be taking a break in celebration of the New Year — see you back on January 4!
ONE. The Fine Art of Family by Monica Rich Kosann — I met Monica, a renowned photographer, at an opening for her jewelry collection a while ago and absolutely fell in love with her pieces and the philosophy, the art of memories, heirlooms, family and friends, behind her designs. While her collection rings in well into the four figures, her keepsake book full her beautiful photographs around the theme of “family” is much more accessible at $40. This would make a wonderful addition to your coffee table or serve as a very special gift – and a beautiful way to bring Monica’s work into your, or a loved one’s, home. – Carolyn
TWO. MINKPINK Wet Paint Dress — Looking for something cute, yet casual to wear to a friend’s NYE bash and don’t want to wear a cocktail dress? Check out Mink Pink’s ‘Wet Paint’ dress, in a ebony fluid length that could work either as a dress or as a tunic. The slickness and ‘wetness’ of this dress will also ensure that you stand out in photos from the night! I can imagine wearing this tunic-style with some jet black leather leggings, paired with some skyscraper heels or boots. At $49, it is also won’t break the bank after all the holiday shopping madness. - Kathleen
THREE. Pacifica Soy Candle Gift Box — If you’re in need of a last minute hostess gift for a NYE soiree, this Pacifica set will do the trick. Since you can pretty much use candles year-round, it’s really a gift that works for so many people. Plus, the scents are amazing, the candles burn evenly and all nine candles come beautifully packaged in a gorgeous gold box – making it seem way more luxurious than it’s $50 price tag! - Connie
FOUR. J.Crew Crushed Glitter Minaudière — This little clutch is just under $50, but looks like a million bucks! It’s a sparkly minaudière encrusted with glitter and metallic accents, and comes in gold or silver. I especially like the brass hardware and how it would dress up a pair of jeans or go perfectly with a classic LBD. And wouldn’t it be just perfect for New Year’s Eve? Cheap and chic, indeed. - Nina
FIVE. CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast — I’ve become totally obsessed with the new Smoky Shadow Blast shadows since I came across them at the drugstore last week. The double-ended sticks make creating a smoky eye quick and simple and the six shades are all totally wearable. (I’m currently loving Silver Sky and Bronze Fire the most, but that could change once I get my hands on Purple Plume). The shadows blend well and smudge easily, so it’s almost impossible to mess the application up. Best of all, they’re only around $8 each, so you can totally justify owning them all. Love that! - Stacey
