Accessories, Fashion, Home, JewelryEditor’s Closet: December 2009

ONE. Mackage Isa Coat — I love my modern looking winter coat from Mackage! Not only does the wool keep me really warm, but this coat is versatile enough to wear with a dress and tights or a pair of jeans. The higher collar and asymmetrical front add a bit of edginess to the look and the real leather detailing gives the coat a sleeker feel. Mackage coats are definitely an investment, but I find that the quality wool and amazing styles make them totally worth it.

TWO. Burberry Check Earmuffs — These are, hands down, the warmest earmuffs ever. They’re cashmere, super soft, and lined with shearling. Though the price tag is high for earmuffs, they are the only kind I’ve ever tried that actually stay on my unusually large skull, all while keeping my ears toasty warm. Plus, it helps that the Burberry check pattern is neutral enough to complement my winter coats, hats, and scarves.

THREE. Rebecca Minkoff Clutch — I picked up this beauty of a bag from Rebecca Minkoff’s last online sample sale for just $185. Score! The Clutch is a welcome alternative to the mostly large bags that I own. It’s compact, yet roomy enough to hold my wallet, iPhone, and other everyday essentials. I bought the flatiron grey shade, and the leather is so soft and luxurious feeling. In a funny coincidence, my bff picked up the Clutch in purple during the sample sale, and it also looks amazing.

FOUR. Nuddle Blanket — I’ve written about the Nuddle Blanket before, and now that winter is in full swing, it’s back on my couch. Seriously, throw your paper thin Snuggies away and pick up a Nuddle. It’s soft, warm, and actually functional. I love tucking my feet away in the feet pocket and lounging on the couch while watching television. I even noticed Mariska Hargitay using a Nuddle on a recent episode of SVU!

FIVE. Diamond Initial Necklace — These simple diamond initial necklaces from Red Envelope are so pretty, especially for the sale price of $24.99. I picked up an N necklace during their Black Friday sale and like the simple elegance of the pendant. The necklace would make a lovely gift, but do hurry, as they’re running out of letters!

I picked up a pair of Burberry earmuffs at their factory store in Houston over the holidays and LOVE them now that I’m back in snowy New England. They are definitely the warmest earmuffs I’ve ever worn, and a girl can never go wrong with Burberry plaid.

(also, I love you blog and read it every day. Keep up the good work!) :D
