Holiday Sparkles
During my teenage years, one of the most precious gifts I ever remembered receiving was a pair of beautiful, solitaire diamond studs from my mother. They weren’t particularly high carat count or done up in any fancy designs, but they were at once the most versatile, practical and most luxurious piece of jewelry I wore on a daily basis. That’s the power of diamonds- even the simplest pieces have the most significant meaning.
Then one day, I lost a stud… and then the other (somewhere along the way, I also lost a diamond necklace) and punished myself by forever switching to costume jewelry. I went for years without wearing earrings–because as much as I loved my Alexis Bittar hoops, I never seemed to have enough time in the mornings to put them in. Buying a new pair of diamond studs was always on my to-do list, but for a single gal, diamonds can be hard to come by. It wasn’t until this week, when I received an amazing gift from the folks at Sam’s Club, that my diamond wishes were finally answered.
The jewelry department at Sam’s Club gifted me a pair of .96 ct. t.w. Round Diamond Studs, which are undoubtedly a pair of the most beautiful earrings I’ve ever seen. They are at once classic and modern, simple and glamorous, and just as perfect for every day wear as for a special occasion. Each stud earring is accented with 24 smaller diamonds and set in 14K white gold, creating a dazzling display of sparkle that is pretty, not gaudy. The ring of smaller diamonds that frame the stud makes this particular design look very glamorous–not to mention the center diamond look even bigger!
Priced at $699, these diamond studs are still an investment, but a much more affordable one than many of its counterparts at department store counters. It is of point to note that while these diamonds rank very high on the color scale, they do rank lower on the clarity scale. In my opinion, because of the intricacies of the design and how all the diamonds sparkle off of each other, the lower clarity is not noticeable.

I feel your pain on losing your first pair of diamond studs. My first pair was a gift from my husband on my first Mother’s Day, and I lost one stud while out shopping. I combed the floors for at least an hour looking for it.

I’ve been pretty lucky so far – every time I think I’ve lost one of mine (from my mom when she ‘moved-up’ a size), I’ve been able to find it…. However, I have somehow managed to lose both backs!
