Lust ListLust List: December 2009

ONE. Devi Kroell Classic Long Hobo — I love the design of this sleek python leather hobo. The silhouette is deceptively simple as it lays flat, but it will become a sophisticated staple in your closet. The leather is so luxurious looking, but the price tag? Not so much. This one I’ll be lusting after for a long while! - Nina

TWO. Breville Smart Grill & Griddle — I’ve totally gotten the cooking bug lately, especially after helping my cousin (who’s a chef) make our Thanksgiving dinner. I’m hoping to continue the culinary inspiration in my own apartment, but I really want some new appliances to make it as fun as possible. I don’t have much counter space left for extra appliances though, which is why the Breville Smart Grill & Griddle is at the top of my list. In one compact package, you get an open grill, a flat griddle and a panini press (which I’m dying to have). I could use it to make a ton of different meals and the clean up is simple and easy too, which I’m convinced would make me even more likely to cook more. I don’t have a spare $350 to spend on it though (and honestly, if I did, I’d probably use it for shoes or the Rebecca Minkoff bag I’ve been coveting). Maybe Santa could put one under the tree for me? - Stacey

THREE. Stella McCartney Silk Cotton Suit — White suits are usually something I associate with being Miami Vice inspired, but I love this version from Stella McCartney for its coolness, effortless versatility, in a crisp, silk white cotton, without any of the cheese factor The heavier cotton can pass for being a Winter white and also be worn into Spring with a lighter colored shirt. Sharp tailoring and haberdashery in a suit is usually more of a man’s thing, but I love that you can instantly see the precise tailoring, fit, and quality seaming from Stella’s version. The abbreviated sleeves of the jacket are perfect for showcasing the contrasting colors or patterns of a button down underneath, and the high waisted tie waist belt tightens up the entire silhouette. In effect, the entire look is an impeccably stylish, polished look that I would love to add into my closet! - Kathleen

FOUR. Joomi Lim Lady Lulu Short Multi Pearl Necklace — My love for JoomiNYC is well-documented on TDO, but the designer recently told me about her higher-end Joomi Lim line. I’m obsessed with this gorgeous necklace, made from hand strung Swarovski Crystal-based pearls and clustered jewels. I love that the feminine touch of the grosgrain ribbon tie. I’d throw this on with my favorite LBD or just over a tee, jeans and boots. At $480 though, I can’t make it mine since it’s sadly not in my price range!  However, if you can splurge on it this season, simply email info@joomilim.com to order. - Connie

FIVE. Ritz Carlton Reserve Phulay Bay –I recently found out about a new collection of resorts from The Ritz Carlton Company called Ritz Reserve, with their first property opening in Southern Thailand this December 22! Ritz-Carlton Reserve will offer luxurious resorts in secluded and naturally beautiful locations around the world- which  means each one of the future properties will automatically make it on my lust list.  Phulay Bay will offer a bespoke experience, tailor making your visit to however you want it, including your own personal butler!  Guests enter the resort over a stepping-stone walkway that leads them to a wooden Thai pavilion situated on an island surrounded by thousands of gently flickering candles. The most luxurious suite, the Royal Beach Villa, starts at over $2000 per night, so I’ll have to leave it on my wish list for now. - Carolyn
