The Power of Oscillation

Lancome has been on the cutting edge of the vibrating makeup craze since it first made waves earlier this year. They recently introduced two new Oscillation products and I was lucky enough to get my hands on them to try them out.
My favorite of the two is the OSCILLATION POWERFOUNDATION. Normally, I prefer a liquid foundation over a powder one, but I liked this mineral powder enough to put in my normal morning routine. As complicated as it might sound, application is really simple. The powder comes in a jar with a powder puff built into the lid that vibrates when you hold a button down. As the puff is vibrating, you glide it over your skin and the powder is easily applied. See? Simple. What’s interesting is that the foundation outputs 7,000 micro-vibrations per minute – this stimulates your skin and breaks down the powder, allowing it to blend into your skin easily. The powder also contains aloe and Vitamin E and even more impressively, an SPF 21 for sun protection. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it covered my skin and how flawless it made my face look. It was definitely as good as any of my favorite liquid foundations and as a bonus, it’s kinda fun. Definitely a change from the normal, boring makeup application. The $48 price tag isn’t cheap, but if you’re looking for a good, natural looking mineral foundation, you can’t go wrong with this one.
The second OSCILLATION product I tried was the POWERBOOSTER lash primer and conditioner. Like the OSCILLATION mascara, the wand comes with a button on the top that when pressed, makes the wand vibrate. When layered under a mascara, the lash primer helps to make lashes longer and thicker. I like the way it makes my lashes look – I can definitely see the difference when I put primer on one eye and then just regular mascara on the other, but because I’m lazy and it’s an extra added step in my makeup routine, I think it’s the kind of product I’ll use mostly at night when I’m going out. (Also, a word of warning, it can make your mascara look a little clumpy, so make sure you take the time to apply it correctly and keep a lash comb handy).
