Bamford Body

If there’s one thing I love as much as products, it’s England.  London is my favorite city in the world and I would totally move there if I could find the perfect job that paid enough for me not to have to live in like, a studio apartment the size of my bathroom.  (Have you guys ever been there?  London is expensive!)  I also have fond memories of hours spent browsing in Boots (sort of the British equivalent of CVS) and finding some amazing products that I haven’t been able to get in the US, so I have very fond memories of my time living there.  Which is why when I recently learned about Bamford Bath & Body – a product line made entirely in England, I couldn’t wait to try it.

One of the great things about the Bamford line is that all the products are at least 95% organic and free of harsh chemicals.  As their website says, the products are meant to “refuel the skin naturally and luxuriously.”  I tried some bath products from the Botanic line, which is also made with essential oils and high quality plant extracts so that the formulas are pure and natural, with no artificial coloring.  (With all the smog I ingest on a daily basis just existing in Los Angeles, it makes me so happy when the products I put on my body are good for it too).  The Botanic line has a number of different aromatherapy scents and I tested out Eucalyptus.  (Other scents include Wild Lavender, Bergamot, and Geranium).  I’m totally obsessed with the Body Wash – it’s gentle and lathers up really nicely and the fragrance is seriously to die for.  I’ve had a really bad cold for almost a week now and have been using it almost exclusively in the shower to give me a little pick me up and make me feel human again.  The Rosemary and Mint in it are really refreshing and it’s really been helping to cool off my fever-heated skin.  (You know a product is good when it can even make you happy when you’re practically sneezing up a lung!)  That’s only one product in the Eucalyptus line – there’s also a soap in the same scent, which is perfect for those of you who prefer bars to liquid, and an absolutely gorgeous smelling Bath Oil that I’ll be taking with me the next time I’m back east at my parents’ house with their whirlpool tub.  I’m also dying to try the Eucalyptus Shampoo and Conditioner.  I love nothing more than using a strong shampoo/conditioner combo in the morning to wake up and these fit the bill perfectly.

I also tested out their Pebble Soap, which is milled in Provence.  (Doesn’t that sound luxurious?  I think everything I own should be “milled in Provence.”)  It smells strongly of Jasmine, which is known to encourage sound sleep and lift your spirits when you smell it.  The soap comes in the shape of a heart, so it’s perfect as a gift for someone you love, but it would also look equally as pretty perched on your sink or as a guest soap.  (It’s also a large size, so it’s a great value for your money).

The Bamford line is available at select Barneys and Neiman Marcus stores in the US.  You can also view the entire line and order it online at www.daylesfordorganic.com.
