Glow With Chanel

Whenever I get to check out a new Chanel collection, I get a little giddy because they’re always so gorgeous and luxurious.  I always remember being a little girl and passing the Chanel counter at the mall and looking forward to the day I could wear it myself.  Their new spring collection is exactly the sort of thing I was dreaming about back then.  Chanel calls Les Impressions De Chanel “a collection of clean, classic neutrals that are infinitely wearable and effortlessly chic.  Quintessential shades, ranging from pink and beige to warm brown and khaki, enhance the complexion and illuminate the face, highlighting a woman’s natural beauty.”  I’ve gotten to try a few of the products and so far, I’ve loved them all.

Out of everything I played around with, my favorite is the new Quadra Eye Shadow in Kasta Beige.  It’s a warm, natural palette of beiges and browns that would look great on almost every skin tone.  (And really, what woman couldn’t use a good natural eye palette?  Even if you already have one you like, you can always use another one!)  It’s also nice because the shades can really be used to create a neutral daytime look with a light application or a darker evening look with a heavier touch.  Versatile eye palettes are like my kryptonite.  (Along with shoes, bags, and expensive jeans, of course!)

I also tried out the Ombre D’Eau Fluid Iridescent Eyeshadow in Torrent.  I don’t have all that much experience with this sort of shadow (it applies wet with an applicator, but dries quickly) but now I totally want more of them.  Torrent is a gorgeous sparkling khaki shade that’s a really interesting mix of green and brown – the green is what stands out, but the sparkle in it is what makes me love it so much.  It’s not an in your face kind of sparkle, but it’s not subtle either.  I’m going to call it “sparkle for grown ups” because that’s really what it is.  I’ll definitely be putting this one on for my next night out with the girls.

The collection adds four new Rouge Allure lipsticks to the line, along with two new Glossimers and a Rouge Double Intensite in Rose Agate (a plum brown).  I’ve been wearing it a lot because it’s the kind of neutral color that goes with a lot of different eye looks.  (The same goes for the two lipsticks I tried out – Incognito (a Rosewood shade) and Delicieuse (an Apricot color).  They’re the sort of staples I always tell my sister to buy because she’s constantly trying to snag mine whenever I’m with her and pull them out of my purse.

The products I tried out are only a small part of the collection.  The one thing that I haven’t seen in person yet that I’m dying to play around with is the Empreinte De Chanel Radiant Glow Highlighting Powder.  It’s the prettiest compact ever in photos – it’s made up of shimmering shades of Rosewood, Beige and Brown and it has the famous Chanel logo imprinted on the powder.  I’m dying to get my hands on it.  There’s also three new shades of Le Vernis Nail Colour – my favorite is Particuliere,  a chic grey that I’m coveting for my next manicure.
