Priori Skincare
Recently, I got the chance to have some of the women from Priori come to my office and give the women (and a few of the men!) mini-facials. It was a really nice break in the middle of a hectic work week (and it made me pretty popular around the office!) I was also able to get a bunch of their products to test out and while I liked them all, I found a few that are definitely going to be a permanent part of my product rotation from now on.
Priori has several different lines of products, but the one that suits me the most is the CoffeeBerry Natureceuticals. The line is based around the most potent source of antioxidants that’s found in nature – CoffeeBerry extract. (I’m going to pretend that this means that all the overpriced caramel lattes I’ve ingested were actually somewhat good for me). CoffeeBerry extract is actually three times more potent than green tea and it gives you great anti-aging benefits (such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles) so it’s definitely a great choice for those of us who are determined to look young for as long as possible.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I am really serious about my sunscreen. I never don’t wear it – even when I’m on the east coast and it’s overcast, I slather it on. So when I can combine sunscreen AND anti-aging ingredients, I’m definitely in favor of it. The Natural Daily Protection SPF 25 is great for Los Angeles sunny weather. I apply it all over any exposed skin on my body before I head outside and it takes care of keeping my fair skin protected when I’m running around doing errands and not realizing how much sun I’m getting. It’s a somewhat thin cream, so once you rub it in, it doesn’t leave a gross, oily feeling behind. It does have a faint scent – it’s hard to describe, but I definitely detect a coffee note, which I actually kind of like. I’m stashing a tube of this in my tote so I’ll always have it with me as we head into the hot summer weather on the west coast.
The Brightening Facial Complex is a gentle, lightweight cream that’s designed specifically for reducing the appearance of uneven skin tones (making it perfect for skin that has irregular pigment or has been damaged by the sun). Even though I don’t have either of those things on the surface, whenever they do those pieces where they show women how much UV damage they actually have underneath the surface of their skin, I’m always amazed by it, so I feel like I should fight it as much as possible. I’ve been using a few pumps of this in the morning after my moisturizer so I can keep my skin looking fresh for as long as possible. (Hopefully all this hard work will pay off in the long run. It’s going to totally be worth it when my younger sister, who is in the sun all the time, looks a decade older than me when we’re middle-aged!)
The third product that I’ve been using constantly is the Revitalizing Cleanser. You can use it on your face and body, but I’ve been using it in the shower as a body cleanser because I really like the way it feels. It’s very light, but it lathers up just as well as some of the heavier shower gels that I have, and when it rinses off, I feel clean and energized. It’s exactly the kind of product that I like to use in the morning. The scent again smells slightly sweet and coffee-like to me, but it’s not very strong, so it’s not something that will conflict with your lotion or perfume that you apply afterwards. I kind of want them to make a scrub to go along with the cleanser because I love layering my products like that.
These are only a few of the great Priori products that I tried out. The company offers a lot of other products that I haven’t yet gotten around to testing (including a Facial Cleanser that’s definitely next on my list) so you’re guaranteed to find a few that you love. I’ve only tried a sample of a face cream from Priori’s Idebenone line, but it was great! Thanks for the info about the Coffeeberry line, I’ll have to check it out.
For those who may be interested in samples before committing to the entire bottle, naturalbeautygroup.com has samples available for purchase. I got my sample free with another purchase (I’m obsessed with Eminence Organic skincare), so it’s worth a look.
