In addition to their Les Pop-Up de Chanel Collection for summer, CHANEL has also introduced a very exclusive collection called Noir Et Or. There are only a few items in the collection, but it’s so dramatic and stunning, you’ll definitely find yourself hunting it down once you’ve seen the pictures.
Noir Et Or was created by Peter Phillips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL, and it’s meant to evoke the glamorous fantasy of Shanghai in the 30’s and 40’s. The look consists of black and gold eyes and nails – definitely a nighttime look that you’ll want to wear when you’re dying to make an entrance. The Ligne et Ombre de Chanel in Jet-Gold is the eye duo. It consists of a matte black eyeliner paired with a sparkling gold eyeshadow. I love gold shadows – they really make my green eyes pop – and this one is gorgeous, especially when paired with the deep black liner.
Noir Et Or also includes three Nail Colours. The first, Black Velvet, is a matte black that comes in the most gorgeous frosted black bottle with gold lettering. Gold Lame is a satiny gold – it almost looks like gold foil on the nails, with a metallic sheen to it. The standout for me though is Illusion d’or. It’s a transparent sparkling gold, but that description doesn’t tell you how absolutely show-stopping it is. When I opened the package, I just sort of stared at it for a few minutes because I was so captivated. It’s so glimmery and sparkly – the perfect summer polish. It also layers amazingly well over the other two shades to create a new, unique look. I am totally in love with the way it looks layered over the Black Velvet. It’s a black and gold wonderland! I don’t really need a pedicure at the moment, but I can already tell that I’m going to get one in the next few days just so I can get it done professionally since I’m terrible at doing my own toes and I want it to look perfect. I might even get it on my hands as well. It’s just too gorgeous not to wear on both!
Noir Et Or is available exclusively at www.CHANEL.com, CHANEL boutiques, and CHANEL makeup studios, so you’ll have to go on a little bit of a hunt to find it, but it’s totally worth it. (Or you could just order it online and have it sent directly to your front door. That’s always my preference…)
