Clean Up
I’ve been obsessed with the CLEAN line ever since I tried their original perfume years ago and over that time, the one and only thing that annoyed me about their products was that I wanted there to be more of them! I didn’t just want perfume, I wanted shower gels and lotions and everything else that a lot of perfume brands come out with so that you can layer your scent. I’d just about given up hope and resigned myself to the fact that it was never going to happen when all of a sudden, there they were. Wishes really do come true!
The new Bath & Shower Gels come in three of CLEAN’s most popular scents – Fresh Laundry, Shower Fresh and Warm Cotton. I tried out Fresh Laundry and it was everything I was hoping for. The scent is exactly like the Eau de Parfum – you can smell the hint of Brazilian Orange note in it here too – and it lathers up really nicely without being drying at all. It’s also a pretty good value as far as
the higher end bath products go – the bottle is $24, but you get a nice big 18.5 ounce bottle, so it’s not the sort of thing that you’re going to run out of after only a week of use. (Is there anything more annoying than that? I can’t tell you how any times I’ve fallen in love with a product only to have to ration it out every day because I didn’t want it to be gone too quickly). The gels also have something called Cotton Vantage, which is a technology based on cotton seeds, extracts and proteins that self-adjusts to help your skin be smoothed, soothed and moisturized. (How high tech is that?) It’s been hot here in L.A. lately so I’ve been showering again before bed and Fresh Laundry is my new go to product for that. It’s so perfect to wind down and feel fresh and clean for bed, especially in warm weather. I’m so glad someone at CLEAN finally got my subliminal messages and had these made!
I also tried out two of their new moisturizers – the Soft Body Lotion in Shower Fresh and the Moisture Rich Body Butter in Warm Cotton. Both of them just keep the greatness going. I know there are some people who think that all the CLEAN scents smell similar, but I can definitely tell the differences between them all and I can smell it in the lotions as well. Shower Fresh is different on my body than Warm Cotton is, so it’s nice to have the options. The Body Butter is definitely a thicker product – I’ve been using that more on places on my body that tend to need deeper moisturizing, like my elbows or my knees, and generally put it on at night to let it soak in while I’m sleeping. (It contains shea butter, but it isn’t greasy at all). The Soft Body Lotion is a little thinner and perfect for the daytime to layer under my favorite CLEAN perfume. They’re both sitting right by me as I’m typing this and I keep taking brief breaks to smell them because they just make me happy.
I’m going to be filing all of the new CLEAN products under the “Must Have” category. (That would be the items that you have to have backups of at all times because you can’t bear the thought of running out). Check them out for yourself at www.cleanperfume.com.
