Beauty, MakeupGo Naked

Out of all the new fall palettes recently hitting the stores, the one I’d heard the most about online was Urban Decay’s Naked Palette.  I seriously couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and when I finally did, I saw exactly what all the hype was about.  It’s awesome, you guys.  Seriously, seriously awesome. A brown suede case holds 12 (yes, 12!) shadows that range from a light vanilla (Virgin) to a dark shimmery black (Creep) with every neutral shade that you can imagine in between.  There are browns and golds and shimmery bronzes and one of my favorite Urban Decay shadows of all time, Gunmetal, rounds it out.  (For those of you who haven’t been made aware of the wonder that is Gunmetal, it’s a gorgeous gray with silver glitter that’s perfect for creating a smokey eye).  The shadows are pigmented and wear well, blending easily (like all Urban Decay shadows).  The great thing about this palette is that it’s a complete one-stop shopping experience.  If you packed this in your bag to go somewhere, you wouldn’t need much of anything else.  (The palette also comes with a travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion and small eyeliner pencils in black and a warm brown).  You can create any sort of eye look that you can imagine with the Naked Palette.  I could see doing a neutral eye for work, a shimmering bronze look for a daytime party, or a full on smokey eye for an evening out.  (For all of you Urban Decay addicts out there, five of the shades in the palette are new, so it would be worth the $44 price tag for those alone).  As I’m writing this, the palette is already sold out on Sephora.com, so if you see it, snatch it up.  You might not get another chance!

Urban Decay also has another new palette out for fall, the Vegan Palette.  This one comes in the most adorable packaging decorated with drawings of animals and inside, you’ll find six eye shadows.  Some of them are neutral shades again, but there are also three different shades to add a pop of color to your look (teal and green and the previously raved about Gunmetal).  It also comes with a travel-sized Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin and a black eyeliner to round out your look.  The thing that I love about this palette is that it’s small and easy to tuck into your bag, but they pack a lot of color into the small space.  (And the teal shade, Minx, is perfect for the summer).  It’s definitely worth picking this one up as well when you’re out hunting down the Naked Palette.  You’ll be happy you did!

That Naked Palette looks really unbelievably–and totally wearable. I can definitely see those colors being daily staples, as opposed to some of Urban Decay’s more out there palettes (which, of course, have their time and place).

Vegan Palette also looks like a keeper!
