I have great memories of my time in Switzerland, so when I heard that OPI’s new fall/winter shades were called the Swiss Collection, I was really hoping that I liked them.  And after seeing them in person, not only do I adore them, I kind of can’t imagine anyone else not finding at least a few colors that they’ll want to wear over and over again.  It’s that kind of collection.  When describing the shades, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI’s Executive VP and Artistic Director, said that “Switzerland provided the inspiration for this season, with a backdrop of snow-peaked mountains, lush glacial valleys, and glittering lakes.  With luxurious hues across the color spectrum, the Swiss Collection features jeweled tones from ruby red to shimmering gold and everything in between.”

I’m a huge fan of red nail polishes, so I adore the fact that this collection has a whopping six different shades of it.  My favorite is Just a Little Rosti at This (love the name!)  It’s a dark brandy-red – very classic and chic and perfect for both fingers and toes.  I also love I’m Suzi & I’m a Chocoholic – it’s a dark reddish-brown that can go from day to night and look equally perfect for both.  If you’re a fan of brighter reds, check out Color So Hot It Berns.  It’s a more fiery shade – a little bolder and perfect for a night out.

The other half of the collection is comprised of more colorful shades, ranging from a glimmering gold to greens and blues.  The Color to Watch is a metallic lilac that I plan on using for my next pedicure because it will look great with the dark purple dress I’m wearing to a wedding in a few weeks.  My favorite of these shades though is Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous.  It’s a gorgeous sparkly pewter.  Love!  I saw a friend of mine the other day and she had a french manicure on her toes, which I normally don’t like at all, but instead of using the standard sheer pink and white, she used two more colorful shades and it just looked really funky and cool.  I might try that at some point with Ski Teal We Drop (an interesting mix of gray, green and blue) and Yodel Me on My Cell (a shimmering blue-green).  It would definitely make my toes stand out before they spend the winter cooped up in boots for a few months.

You can check out the entire Swiss Collection and find a store near you that carries it at
