Cheap & ChicCheap & Chic: September 2010

ONE. Erin Condren Confetti Greeting Cards — With e-mail and texting, handwritten thank you notes have kind of fallen by the wayside, but there’s still something really nice about receiving one from someone. (And I try to write them as much as possible myself). Erin Condren’s Confetti cards are perfect – they’re bright and cheerful and will definitely put a smile on the face of whoever you send one to. For $30, you’ll get 15 personalized cards, pink envelopes, and matching return address labels, but best of all, for each pack sold, Erin will contribute $15 to fund the cure and increase breast cancer awareness by sponsoring women to participate in various fundraisers, including the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer & the REVLON Run/Walk for Women. So you can send a chic thank you note AND help fight breast cancer. What could be better? - Stacey

TWO. Style Eyes by Taylor Chang-Babaian — What’s one of the best accessories we naturally possess? Eyes! That’s why it’s fantastic that celebrity makeup artist Taylor Chang-Babaian (whom I have had the pleasure of watching in action several times) devoted an entire book to eye makeup, specifically because “how should I do my eyes” is the most popular makeup question she gets asked. I sat down with the book recently, and not only is it filled with gorgeous photos, it actually contains easy-to-understand how-tos and quick, straightforward advice (get preview tips here). For just $17.95, it’s practically gold in your library. Put it right next to the iconic Bobbi Brown Beauty and flip to a page whenever you need makeup inspiration. - Charli

THREE. White House Black Market Pin Dot Tights -I’m so happy to see that one of my favorite trends from last fall is back again this year! I love the coquettish feel of these tights which adds character to any black outfit.  Pair it with a black pencil skirt and ultra high heels for one of my all-time favorite looks- ultra sexy yet in a very proper way.  This pair from White House Black Market is only $15, making it a risk free way to incorporate the look into your style this season.

FOUR. Erin Gallager Jewelry Eleanor Earrings – The great thing about custom jewelry is that you can design to fit your own price point. That’s why I love the cheap & chic options available at Erin Gallagher jewelry! Her Eleanor earring design is one of my favorites–single sparkly stones dangling from simple ovals. Just choose your main stone (they range from $10-$40), metal, and ear hardware and you’re all set. My creation using rock crystals and silver was just $35 and I can wear them with pretty much anything in my closet! -Nina

FIVE. Thymes Neroli Blossom Candle — In anticipation of the weather cooling down, I’m stocking up on candles since I know I’ll be burning them in the office when it feels too chilly and gloomy outside. Thymes makes some beautifully scented candles, but my favorite at the moment is the Neroli Blossom scent. Aside from burning evenly, the candle has a richly floral fragrance that retains freshness and depth. This calming and uplifting candle is only $26… well worth it! - Connie
