Lust ListLust List: September 2010

ONE. S Max Mara Customized Coat — A couple of days ago I got a preview of S’ Max Mara’s newest customizable coats for winter 2010 and now I seriously cannot stop thinking about them!  The ‘S line (as in Carolyn’S, Wendy’S etc) allows for the customer to build their own coat- from selecting the body color to style to accessories such as fur hood, muffs etc.  The body styles range from vests to long coats and are made of the softest material and filled with down.  For those who prefer a little less sporty, options also include a sleeker version of the traditional puffy coat. Basic body styles start around $800 going well into the thousands, thus putting this on the top of my lust list for the moment.  If I could make my own, I’d have a black knee length puffy with a belt, and fur collar and muffs.  For FNO, ‘S Max Mara launched their new iPhone/iPad App todaywhere you can try to win your own coat.    - Carolyn

TWO. Manolo Blahnik Leopard Pony d’Orsay Pump — I go through leopard-print shoes like they’re going out of style … so it’s a good thing they’re always in style! As you may recall in my recent rant on animal prints, I’ve been lusting over these Manolo heels for quite some time — after scouring the Internet for the perfect leopard-print heel. If I had $775 to burn, I’d snatch them up in a heartbeat and forget all about Christian whatshisname. Sigh … one day, perhaps. – Charli

THREE. Sushma Patel Karissa Necklace — How gorgeous is this necklace? Covered in stunning amethysts, this silver necklace is perfect for everything from a sophisticated cocktail party with a fabulous dress to a Sunday brunch in a boyfriend tee and jeans. Too bad it’s at $1,480, as I’d surely love to have this in my jewelry box… - Connie

FOUR. Marc by Marc Jacobs Flash City Bag — No matter how many black bags I own, I never get sick of buying another one when I stumble upon one that I love. You just can’t go wrong with a black bag. The Flash City Bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs is my current obsession – I must check on it at least once a day online to see if it’s magically gone on sale, since its $428 price tag is a little out of my range right now. I absolutely adore the pebbled leather and the zippers add a bit of toughness to its classic shape. The print-lined interior is a fun touch, and I love that it has a detachable shoulder strap so you can decide how you want to carry it. If I win the Mega-Millions this week, I’m making this bag one of my first purchases. (After the beach house in Malibu and Lexus Hybrid, of course!) - Stacey

FIVE. Burberry Zip Waist Wool Felt Pea Coat — Is it too early to start lusting after coats for cooler weather? The classic coats from Burberry Prorsum are always atop my lust list, and this sleek, modern take on the traditional pea coat is no exception. The coat features vintage-looking touches like militaristic epaulets and cuffs, and  I love the big brass zipper that runs around the waistline. Plus, unzip the lower panel and suddenly you’ve got a chic cropped jacket! Suffice it to say that though this coat will never be in my budget, it’s still my ideal outerwear for the fall. - Nina
