Consider Having a Private Affair

LORAC’s palettes and sets are always my favorite purchases because they’re just such a good deal.  You know how sometimes you buy a set of products and then you realize after you got it home that you only saved like, five dollars or so over buying them separately?  LORAC is the exact opposite.  Every time I buy one of their sets, I’m always amazed at just how much is included for the price and it makes me love the brand even more.  Two of their new fall products perfectly illustrate why you can’t go wrong with LORAC. Glitter Explosion

I’ve been really into glitter nail polish lately on my toes.  (I’d be into it on my fingers too, but for some reason, I feel like it just looks ridiculous on them a lot of the time).  Most brands have one or two glitter polishes that I like, but every single one of Deborah Lippmann’s shades have me oohing and aahing. A Worthwhile Splurge

Every once in awhile, a girl just needs to splurge on something totally gorgeous and lust-worthy.  Maybe you’re celebrating a milestone or a great achievement or just excited that you made it through the work week…  Whatever it is, if you’re looking to make your splurge makeup-related, I suggest putting that money towards the new Givenchy Le Prisme Eyeshadow Quartets.  They’re definitely pricey at $56 each, but they’re so, so worth it.

The shades are all so gorgeous and buttery soft and they apply fantastically well, not to mention being highly pigmented and easy to blend.  They’re pretty much everything you could want in a shadow, plus the shade combinations are so pretty.  I tried three of them – Blue Collection (with shades ranging from teal to navy), Khaki Egerie (shades of greens, browns and golds), and Midnight Look (a variety of purple and silvers) and I loved them all.  I’m sort of coveting the other three that are available too.  (I think completing the set is only right, don’t you?)  And while the quartets are definitely a splurge, the shadows are a nice size, so you’ll be using (and oogling) them for a long time.

And if you’re really looking to treat yourself, I suggest you also pick up the new Le Prisme Blush in Blooming.  The presentation is visually stunning, with four different shades swirled together in a way that makes each compact unique.  (It’s so, so pretty).  When you apply it, it gives your cheeks a natural light pink shade.  Perfect for the end of summer, but also something you could wear year round for a touch of color.  Splurges are so much fun…

Olivina’s Honeysuckle Rose

I have never taken to a hand cream/moisturizer as fast as the new Honeysuckle Rose Hand Creme by Olivina Napa Valley. Olivina uses a blend of hand-pressed olive and grapeseed oils in its products, along with other essential oils to create a highly moisturizing blend of ingredients. Plus, all of the products are free from chemical parabens, preservatives, sodium lauryl-sulfate and cruelty free.

I was first taken by the scent. Not normally a fan of rose-centric fragrances, I make an exception for this light and positively addicting scent. But what I loved about the Honeysuckle Rose Hand Creme was the incredibly lightweight formula (without it being too liquid like a lotion). It also was highly hydrating and absorbed into the skin within a minute or two after application. Plus, the scent lingers softly if you’re just looking for just a light scent to perk up your skin (and senses). The hand creme is only $18 for 2.5 oz at olivinanapavalley.com. I personally can’t wait to try out other products from this line!
