Lust ListLust List: October 2010

ONE. Ash Ursula Boot — Colder weather means I finally get to break out the boots again, which makes me very happy. I would be even happier if these Ash Ursula boots could somehow find their way into my closet. I love the gorgeous gray leather and the 4″ wedge heel means that they’ll be comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time without sacrificing the added height that I’m always looking for. I’ve been searching for a tall gray wedge boot for a long time now and these would perfectly fit the bill. Now if only they would go on sale… – Stacey

TWO. Smythson Portobello Diary with Slide Closure — I’m not joking when I say that the most important accessory that I use every day of every year is my paper planner.  Despite being in the digital age, I still reply on good old pen and paper to keep track of my busy work and social schedule.  I discovered the elegant Smythson diary a few years ago and have invested in one every year since.  For 2011, I’m lusting after the Portobello style, which is a larger desk diary with ample space to plan out your entire life. I love the Damson leather, new for the season, and the shagreen closure protects the pages from possibly intruding objects like pens and in my case, lipglosses. Clocking in at $410, this diary is a true investment, but one that I know I won’t regret making!   – Carolyn

THREE. Valentino Histoire Patent Satchel — I’ve been lusting after a bag with classic detailing and ladylike charm–the Histoire Patent Satchel, a variation on the Histoire Bag. I love the braided straps and closure accents and the super pale pink shade. Carry it by the top handle or use the shoulder strap (it’s detachable), either way, it’s a gorgeous bag! Its price is definitely out of my budget, but a gal can dream, can’t she? – Nina

FOUR. Tocca Kona Candle — I have an obsession with Tocca candles and this one that’s exclusive to Bluemercury is no exception. The rich coconut scent has hints of florals that will make you feel like you’re at the beach – perfect as we move into chillier months. At $36, it’s a bit of a splurge but is a wonderful affordable indulgence (and cheaper than a beach vacation)! – Connie

FIVE. DVF Loren Coat in Camel — I’ve been obsessed with camel for years simply because of its luxury, simplicity and ability to go with almost any other shade, dressed up or down. Last year, I spent months searching for the perfect camel knit cardigan and found the selection rather sad, so I’m thrilled that camel is now everywhere this season (although not so thrilled that it’s selling out so fast). I’m also excited to see the shade being used in girly silhouettes (as opposed to the usual boxy boyfriend cardigans and trench coats). This Loren Coat from DVF, while expensive at $695, is sure to go bye-bye quickly, so it’s No. 1 on my Lust List for the colder months ahead. – Charli
