BeautyEditor’s Vanity: November 2010

For this month’s Editor’s Vanity, I wanted to feature all my favorite skincare products.  Every one of these products I use on an almost daily basis every morning.

ONE. 3Lab Perfect Face Wash – Having been a huge fan of 3LAB’s Perfect Mask and M Cream, I was very eager to try their Perfect Cleanser and as expected- it did not disappoint. I’ve been using it daily for weeks and have noticeably clearer complexion- smoother texture, more radiance, and overall softer skin.  The Perfect Cleanser is well suited for my combination skin- as it leaves me feeling almost squeaky clean without any dryness at all. It’s an absolute essential since I put so many products on my face- it preps my skin for my moisturizer and makeup in the morning- and comfortably takes it all off in the evening.

TWO. Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector- This is the first anti-aging product that I’ve started using regularly.  Despite being in my 20s, I already have a fair amount of fine lines on my forehead so I use Clinique Repairwear as a preventative treatment before they settle into deeper wrinkles.  This serum glides over skin easily and is quickly absorbed without leaving any kind of residue.  The product also contains ingredients to repair UV damage and protect against free radicals- additional benefits that everyone needs.  The product does require constant, long term use for results- but my initial verdict is that you get smoother, more supple skin after just a week.

THREE. Tata Harper Rebuilding Moisturizer- Tata Harper, my newest discovery, is quickly becoming one of my favorite skincare brands.  The Rebuilding Moisturizer is now my go-to product to use every morning.  It has a natural fresh scent and a light, non-greasy consistency that easily absorbs into the skin. Formulated with raw honey, sodium hyaluronate, rose water, and aloe vera, the Rebuilding moisturizer harnesses the power of 100% natural ingredients to deliver results for even the most sensitive skin.  My skin feels more energized and the scent really gets me going in the morning.  However, be sure to use an SPF in conjunction with this product because Tata is still working on her SFP moisturizer!

FOUR. Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion AM Moisturizer SPF 30- This product is on the heavier side and requires a bit of extra rubbing to sink it- but that’s a positive for this SPF 30 because it really helps me make sure that I’ve got every square centimeter of my face covered.  It protects against a wide spectrum of UVA and UVB rays and should be a required component of everyone’s daily skincare routine. The oil free formulation is appropriate for all skin types and does not clog pores. Plus, it contains a 1.5% time-release retinol solution- which helps fight (and prevent) wrinkles all day long! Although the product also doubles (triples?) as a moisturizer, I treat it more like a sunblock and use it on top of another moisturizer.

FIVE. Revive Acne Reparatif - My acne days are finally over but that doesn’t mean I don’t suffer from the (more than) occasional breakout. My go-to solution is Revive’s Acne Reparatif which smells great, works like a charm and never ever dries out or irritates my skin. It contains a bioactive peptide consisting of naturally occurring amino acids that works with Salicylic Acid to clear and prevent the development of new acne.  I actually use this every morning regardless of if I have budding zits or not- and it certainly has kept the pesky breakouts at bay!
