It’s A Very Bobbi Holiday

Bobbi Brown always comes out with some fall/holiday goodness for all of us, but this year she’s really kicked it up a notch.  When I was passing by a Bobbi counter last weekend, I stopped in and played around with some of the new palettes and I’m almost wishing I hadn’t because now I want them all!  Seriously, all of them.  I did manage to get my hands on two of the new sets though and they’re both great.

The Modern Classic Lip & Eye Palette has 4 lip shades – 3 in a glitter finish and one with shimmer.  I love that they’re not boring, matte colors.  It’s the holidays.  I want to sparkle!  The Grape Glitter Lip Gloss is my favorite – it’s a deep plum shade that’s perfect for a darker lip shade without being so dark that you look like you’re waiting on line at a goth club.  I also really like the Golden Topaz Glitter Lip Gloss.  It’s a golden bronze shade that goes great over a nude lipstick to add a little glitter to your look.  The palette also has 10 different eyeshadow shades, which are conveniently hidden away by a mirror, so when you close the palette, the dust from the shadows doesn’t get all mixed up in the glosses.  I LOVE that Bobbi did this because it’s so annoying when that happens.  It drives me crazy that other palettes don’t do this too.  The shadows are all fairly neutral, but there are dark shades mixed in with lighter ones, so you can create looks for both daytime and evening with the palette.  I’m a big fan of the Gold Thread shadow paired with the Navy Charcoal shadow.  Such a pretty combo!  (And one of many you can create with this palette).  It’s a little pricey at $75, but it’s the holidays.  It’s the time to splurge!

I also tried out the new Lip Gloss Trio, which would (hint, hint) make a great stocking stuffer for any of your beauty loving friends or family members.  There are three glosses in it – Kir Sugar Shimmer, Gold Glitter Lip Gloss and Bright Pink Lip Gloss – all of which seem like they’d be neutral enough to suit most complexions.  Gold Glitter is my favorite, just by virtue of the fact that it’s gold glitter.  How much more perfect for the holidays can you get?  (It also layers really nicely over lipstick, so you’ll get a lot of use out of it).  The Bright Pink Lip Gloss is more subdued than the name would suggest – it’s a very basic neutral pink.  Kir Sugar is the darkest of the three – it’s sort of a brownish, rosy gold shade.  Very pretty paired with a smoky eye.

I’m crossing my fingers that Santa puts a few more of Bobbi’s new releases under the tree for me too this year…
