Accessories, Home, Lust List, ShoesLust List: March 2011

ONE. Diane von Furstenberg Tavle Day Bag — I’m so in the market for a new bag, and this Diane Von Furstenberg one is high on my list at the moment. It’s the perfect in between size to carry around during the day and I adore the color. It’s a great neutral without being boring. The gold hardware and cutout on the strap are interesting and eye-catching, and I love the knotted handles. I definitely can’t justify a $500 bag at the moment, but I’m on the lookout for something similar to this for half the price (or less!). If you have any suggestions, send them my way! - Stacey

TWO. Coach Maleena Wedge — I’ve been in a shoe rut for the past few months, wearing mostly flats and boots. With the spring season approaching, I’m determined to start wearing shoes with height. However, I think I’ll need to easy into the height with a wedge. What better way to start than with the sexy Maleena style by Coach? This tonal strappy platform will elongate legs and will pair with everything from your favorite skinny jeans on the weekends to a conservative dress at the office. At $198, it’s outside my budget at the moment (so sad because I really, really want them!), but it’s not so unreasonable that you, dear reader, couldn’t splurge… - Connie

THREE. Sealy Posturepedic Mattress — I’m not in the market for a new bed yet but after I tried the new Sealy Posturepedic mattress at an event last month, I’ve been dying to switch over! The newest model combines cutting edge technical features with user friendly details such as unique, ergonomic wrap around  handles and a “stay tight” foundation which prevents sheets from moving.  The entire design of the mattress is incredibly smart, providing the most support where you need it i.e. the center third of the mattress is “power packed” and the outer rim is designed to provide the appropriate support for sitting (no more sagging mattresses!).  There’s nothing I love more than having a super comfortable bed so this is coming off my lust list (and into my apartment) when I move! -Carolyn

FOUR. Alexander Berardi for Jessica Jensen Blue Ribbon Box Satchel – Designer duo Alexander Beradi & Jessica Jensen team up to create this luxe satchel for $898. The intricate, hand-woven Italian leather used is soft to touch but makes for a sturdy staple.  This ivory satchel is ideal to store summer essentials for a weekend hop onto the Hampton Jitney.  The removable nautical silk bow adds just the perfect touch of preppy and makes it impossible to resist! This sophisticated handbag is also a very practical purchase with its zipper closure, removable shoulder strap and interior zip plus communication and media device pockets. - Liz

FIVE. Diane von Furstenberg Opal Crisscross Wedge Sandals — I wish, I wish, I wish I could wear 4.5″ platform wedges without worrying about falling over and breaking my ankles. (Technically, this is a 3.5″ heel if you count the 1″ platform, so it’s really not that high of a heel if you’re careful.) Either way, they’re worth the risk … and $295. I love the layered wood on the heel and the natural burlap straps so much, I’d get them even if I could only stare at them. Sigh. – Charli
