Lust ListLust List: September 2011

ONE. Mulberry’s Heritage Bayswater Satchel — I really miss back to school shopping…there – I said it. Gone are the days of outfitting for college campus but everyone still needs a great new fall bag for work. I fell in love with Mulberry’s Heritage Bayswater Satchel in a Deer Brown Ostrich & Haircalf Mix. This is a great take on their classic satchel style, still trad but with an exotic twist. – Liz

TWO. Wavering Ombre Curtain in Coral — I have been obsessed with these curtains at Anthropologie since I moved into my new apartment. But at $188 a panel, they’ve remained a pipe dream. (I would need at least six panels!) The bold color and texture make such a statement, I wouldn’t need to hang much else in the room. Definitely an investment piece that would be totally worth it if I had the money. Sigh. – Charli

THREE. GHD Iconic Eras Glamour Limited Edition Gold Styler Hair Straightener — As a beauty blogger whose tried lots of hair products, I can confidently say this: not all flat irons are created equal.  In fact, until you’ve tried a top-of-the-line GHD styler, you don’t even know what you’re missing out on!  This product is easy to use with the smoothest pull and it actually straightens your hair the first time- which seriously cuts back on my hair time in the mornings. The best part is, this limited edition set comes with hair sectioning clips (genius) and is housed in the cutest satin clutch (which actually doubles as a clutch!).  This limited edition set is $240..which makes it a splurge- but one that’s definitely worth it!      – Carolyn

FOUR. Crate & Barrel Incognito Ebony Compact Office — I’m moving into a new place soon and that means the opportunity to redecorate and buy new things. The hard part is doing it all on a budget and deciding which pieces are must buys immediately and what will have to wait awhile. At the moment, I’m lusting over Crate & Barrel’s Incognito Ebony Compact Office. It’s the perfect way to hide my laptop, printer, and files while still having a gorgeous piece of furniture that can be on display for visitors to admire. (I especially love one of the shots of it on their website between two leaning bookcases. I really want to duplicate that look in my new condo). At the moment though, with all my rapidly accumulating moving expenses, a $999 price tag (before tax and delivery) is definitely something that’s going to have to take some serious thought. Can’t the Crate & Barrel fairy just drop it off on my doorstep for me? – Stacey

FIVE. Tory Burch Tory Tunic — For my everyday life, my style takes on a more Californian casual philosophy (after all – it’s where I live!). I tend to dress in clean, simple silhouettes, and this gorgeous cashmere tunic is an ideal addition to my fall wardrobe. It looks so luxurious, classic and versatile. I can see it working with my typical fall uniform of denim and flats (when it gets colder, boots), yet still keeping me looking put-together. At $395…sadly, this will only keep me warm in my dreams! – Connie
