Cheap & Chic, FashionCheap & Chic: October 2011

ONE. Pier 1 Felt Roses Pillow — It looks high-end, but it’s not. These gorgeous standard-sized pillows, covered with crimson felt petals appliques, are the ultimate little works of art for your living space. I recently went to Pier 1 in search of a lamp and left with two of these for the couch instead. At $39.95 a piece, they’re still a little pricey, but if you can get your hands on a Pier 1 coupon, they’re totally worth it. – Charli

TWO. Alexandra Beth Braided Friendship Bracelet — One of our favorite comebacks recently has been the return of the friendship bracelet. It brings back fond memories of early childhood coordinating, merchandising and trading. Alexandra Beth has a fresh take on a classic braided style in bright colors for only $28 each. She also offers other simple styles that complement her complete jewelry collection – so you can pair a friendship bracelet with one of her standout cuffs! – Liz

THREE. Kohl’s LC Lauren Conrad Foil Polka-Dot Sweater — It’s time to start bundling up as the weather cools down, and stock up on layers. I can’t resist a polka dot (a continuing trend for fall)…and this gold-dotted beige sweater is so fun! Simply a must-have for under $50. – Connie

FOUR. Deborah Lippmann I Love the Nightlife Nail Polish — As we head into colder weather (finally!) here in Los Angeles, I’m loving the fact that I can put away my bright summer polishes and start wearing dark shades again. The second I saw Deborah Lippmann’s new I Love the Nightlife polish, I knew it was going to be a staple in my winter wardrobe. It’s an edgy graphite glitter and let’s face it, nobody does glitter like Deborah Lippmann. I haven’t seen it in person yet, but I think it’s about to hit shelves any day now, so I’ll be stalking my local stores until I find a bottle to take home with me. Isn’t it just the perfect fall/winter shade? For only $18, it’s definitely cheap and chic. I can’t wait to wear it! – Stacey

FIVE. Anthropologie Veracruz Danglers — The right pair of dangly earrings can elevate your best little black dress or even a jeans and top ensemble, and I think this pair from Anthropologie is just right. I love the art deco-inspired feel and how the turquoise stones look against the intricate silver and rhinestones. They strike the perfect balance between simple elegance and a little bit of dramatic flair (which every gal needs once in a while). At $48, these earrings come right in at our Cheap & Chic threshold and fittingly, too! – Nina
