Cheap & Chic, FashionCheap & Chic: January 2012

ONE. Michael Antonio Keme-2 Pump in Multi — OK, it’s $5 over the Cheap & Chic limit, but for a party shoe, it’s very affordable. (Plus, you can find plenty of stylish shoes from this affordable vegan footwear brand for just under $50.) I recently tried on a pair of their platform pumps and was really surprised at how comfortable they were! - Charli

TWO. FixMySkin balms — After too many costly and long awaited appointments to the dermatologist, I was thrilled to learn that FixMySkin can help with some of my everyday skin troubles for a fraction of the cost. Keep these uniquely formulated balms handy to help treat dry skin, chapped lips, psoriasis, eczema, insect bites, poison ivy and allergic reactions. The FixMySkin balms are available in vanilla and a pleasant flavorless option and come in three convenient sizes (Lip: $8, Face: $10, Body: $12). - Liz

THREE. Drybar — Drybar focuses on only one service and executes it perfectly for $40: the blowout. Stations are lined along a bar and face a panel of flat-screen TVs that play girly movies all day. You don’t even have to worry about explaining what kind of style you want; simply choose from the cocktail-inspired menu: a straight sleek Manhattan, a polished curly Cosmopolitan, or a beachy casual wavy Mai Tai. The service starts with a relaxing shampoo and scalp massage followed by styling. Depending on the texture and length of your hair, you could be in and out in 30 minutes with a fresh style to keep you going for a few days. Oh, and you can get cookies and champagne for free which means your total including tip comes out to be $48. Cheap and chic indeed!  - Carolyn

FOUR. Old Navy Stretch Leggings – These leggings are my cheap thrill lately! They fit your body nicely without pinching at your waist and are perfect for layering. As the weather has become increasingly chilly, I’ve been wearing them with long tunics and knit dresses. And at $10 each, I can afford to stock up on these! - Connie

FIVE. Not Soap Radio Cocoa Nostra Confectionary Lip Gloss — I’m a total lip gloss addict and recently discovered the Cocoa Nostra Confectionary glosses. The pots come in four different flavor combos – Fleur de Sel (milk chocolate/salted caramel), Frozen Banana (dark chocolate/banana), Black & White Cookie (half vanilla/half chocolate frosted cookie) and Cherry Cordial (milk chocolate/black cherry). They smell delicious and come in the most adorable packaging; plus they’re completely natural, vegan and hand-poured, so no two are exactly alike. They’re a steal at $10 each, but do yourself a favor and grab the box with all four flavors in it for only $25. Definitely a cheap and chic bargain! - Stacey

Oh my gosh I hate you for life for introducing me to the Not Soap Radio site. I need more lipbalms and bath products like a hole in the head. But the “I’m not here I’m really…” line is too cute and fun to pass up!
