As much as I love the darker nail shades of the fall and winter, once I’ve been wearing them for a few months, I’m totally ready to strip them off and put some bright colors on my fingers and toes. China Glaze’s Electropop collection came along right in the nick of time this year. The twelve shades are all bold and fun, none of them boring, and they make me think of spring and the gorgeous shades that fill yards when the season’s new flowers start to spring up.
Out of the twelve shades, I’ve gotten my hands on five of them so far – Sweet Hook, Gothic Lolita, Gaga for Green, Make Some Noise and Fuchsia Fanatic. Those of you green lovers out there will definitely fall for Gaga for Green. It’s a creamy bright green, almost the shade of an avocado, but deeper, and it would make a really fun pedicure shade, especially for the warmer weather when your toes are peeking out of your shoes. I’m also really loving Fuchsia Fanatic. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a bright fuchsia, and it’s the perfect antidote to cold weather because even if you’re stuck inside on a snowy day, a manicure with this would definitely put a spring in your step. Make Some Noise is an orangey-coral that I could imagine using on both my fingers and toes. It would especially stand out if you paired it with black, like say a LBD for a night out this coming weekend. (Okay, fine, that’s what I’ll be pairing it with…) Sweet Hook and Gothic Lotlita are purples, with Sweet Hook being more of a soft lilac and Gothic Lolita a much deeper, darker purple. Both totally fun! I can’t wait to see the rest of the collection in person because I’ve been coveting a bright yellow pedicure shade and Sunshine Pop looks like it might be the winner. Plus, Aquadelic reminds me of a Tiffany’s box and what girl doesn’t like that shade?
Electropop is trickling into stores now. You can check out the entire collection at www.chinaglaze.com.
