My Favorite Oscar Gowns of Years Past

It’s almost too good to be true that smack dab, in the middle of Fashion Week, are the Hunger Games of red carpet dressing: the Oscars.  Most people daydream about winning the Oscar, I daydream about the important stuff: what designer, color, type of gown, makeup, and hairstylist I would I go for if I were attending. My answers change, depending upon my mood (except for the color, I’m pretty steadfast on yellow), but here are a few ladies that I think have worn the best Oscar dresses of all time:

Audrey Hepburn in Edith Head.

Uma Thurman in Prada

Nicole Kidman in Christian Dior

Cate Blanchett in John Galliano

Courtney Love in Versace

Hilary Swank in Randolph Duke

Chloe Sevigny in Lanvin

Michelle Williams in Vera Wang

Keira Knightley in Vera Wang

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive

Natalie Portman in Lanvin

Marion Cotillard in Jean Paul Gaultier
