ScarJo Goes Nude with HIPPXRGB
Just got a tip from green celebrity nail stylist Jenna Hipp that she used HIPPxRGB Nail Foundation F2 topped with Nail Tint T1 on the lovely Scarlett Johansson at The Avengers premiere this week. (See “More” for a photo of Scarlett’s nails.) The result? A perfectly matched nude polish.
If you’re as deeply in love with nude nail polish as I am, this is amazing because it’s often really hard to find a nude polish that matches your skin tone. This is also why I’m obsessed with the HIPPxRGB collection. It’s the first line of skin-tone specific, full coverage, all nude nail color, conceived with the idea that nude polish should match your nails—kind of like foundation or tinted moisturizer matches your face.
Why is matching so important? Nude polish that matches your skin tone not only looks more elegant, it makes your hands appear longer, helps neutralize the appearance of redness and blue veins, and tends to wear better than dark or loud polishes. (Chips are less noticeable.) Seasonal bonus: It pairs really well with the current neon/color pop trend! A nude polish that’s too light, too dark, too yellow or too pink doesn’t have the same effect—and it can make your hands look flat, ashy and unhealthy, says Jenna. (She should know; she does almost every Hollywood “It” girl’s nails, from Drew Barrymore to Jennifer Lawrence.)
With four Nail Foundations and four sheer Nail Tints, it’s easy to find a polish that matches your skin tone and coverage preference. And you can pair a foundation with a tint, like Jenna did on ScarJo, for a custom-blended match. This gives me relief since I’m still rationing a limited-edition MAC polish that I got years ago (it’s the only one I’ve found that matches my skin perfectly). So, to wrap this up, I definitely recommend giving HIPPxRGB a shot if you’re craving the perfect nude nail.
From my nails to Jenna and RGB, thanks for making the future look bright nude!
