Insider’s Obsessions: Tina Dizon
When I first saw that celebrity hair stylist and extension expert Tina Dizon charged up to four figures for hair extensions, my eyes almost fell out of my head. But after meeting her and experiencing her Beverly Hills salon, The Private Room, I quickly got why people go out of their way to see her. Not only is she a former top stylist and lead educator at the legendary Umberto Beverly Hills, she is incredibly fun, stylish and down-to-earth. Those qualities are reflected not only in her staff but also in the salon’s chic black and white interior (Tina has a penchant for interior design). Here are her latest obsessions:
ONE. Christian Louboutin Torero Shoes — What girl doesn’t love the dreamy red bottoms? These are my absolute obsession — sexy, glamorous, peep-toe, platform pumps.
TWO. RockStar Gel Nails by Annie at Chi Nails — All that glitters! It’s not just an ordinary gel manicure and pedicure. It’s the most amazing sparkle and glam on hands and toes you’ll get on this side of the Pacific.
THREE. Unite Tricky Lite — My top hair product choice, perfect for adding definition and separation to all hair types (especially fine hair). It’s a light finishing powerhouse spray wax — a little wax, a little hold and lots of shine.
FOUR. Lucques Grilled Cheese Sandwich — This is the tastiest, better-than-home-cooked grilled cheese with gruyère, roasted shallots and apple salad! Do I need to add that a refreshing cocktail from Lucques makes the evening complete?
FIVE. David Kim Yoga — Not just any yoga teacher in L.A. will do. David’s classes are amazing! He’s a smart, knowledgeable and fun teacher who is always challenging his students through humor and inspiration.
