I always forget just how very much I love Chanel until I get my hands on their new products and then I fall in love all over again. And that’s exactly how I feel about the items I tried from their new summer collection – in love.
I tried both of the new Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzers – Sable Beige and Sable Rose – and adore them both. Each of them looks so pretty in the pan, with seven different shades striped together and the Chanel name printed at the bottom. (I think we can all agree that besides even the quality of their products, Chanel really knows how to present their makeup in the most attractive way possible). I really like how easy that makes it to use the colors in other places too, especially the gold shade, which makes a gorgeous highlighter on eyes. When you use it as a bronzer, you just swirl your large brush over the pan and mix all the shades together for a sunlit glow. Very pretty and subtle in a way a lot of bronzers aren’t, which I appreciate.
Orange is the color of the moment and the new Calypso Glossimer is the perfect way to wear it this summer. It looks super bright in the tube, but on my lips it’s more subdued and gives my lips a pop of color without being too over the top. It goes really well with a nude eye and some coral blush, and it’s equally wearable both during the day and at night. I’ve been layering it over the new Rouge Coco Shine in En Vogue, which is a brighter orange shade and super moisturizing. Either one looks great on its own, but together, they really stand out.
And of course, no Chanel collection is complete without some new nail polishes. There are three new Le Vernis Nail Colours – Island, Delight and Holiday. Holiday is the one I’ve fallen head over heels for because it’s a gorgeous bright orange (you really can’t escape it this summer!) It’s a perfect pedicure shade, but I’m always kind of dying to try it on my fingers just because it’s so pretty. Delight is a gold-bronze metallic with tons of shimmer and it’s different from any polishes I can find already in my stash. Very unique and interesting. Island is a frosty pinkish-beige, a neutral that you could easily wear to work or to the beach. They’re all limited-edition and we all know how fast those vanish, so don’t delay getting to your nearest Chanel counter to pick them up if you’re coveting one (or all!)
Now that I’ve gotten my hands on these, I can’t wait to try the rest of the collection. Chanel, you are my kryptonite!
