Cheap & ChicCheap & Chic: July 2012

ONE. The New Black Ombre Nail Shades 5-Piece Set in Graffiti – I’m in a serious nail polish phase right now and one of the brands I’m dying to try is The New Black. I’ve seen their Ombre Shades 5-Piece Nail Polish Sets in magazines and online and I really, really need to get my hands on the Graffiti set. The five shades in the set are in the black color family – everything from a dark black to a sparkly silver and every time I see the picture, I think how cool it would look as a manicure with each finger painted a different one of the shades. Such a cool idea! The sets themselves (they’re available in a variety of color palettes – everything from black to pink) are $22 each, so not too bad, plus each one has a nice range of colors even if you’re not planning to do an ombre manicure with them. But if you do, you’ll be the chicest girl anywhere you go! – Stacey

TWO. C Wonder Decorative Bee Glass Plate – I’ve fallen hard for C Wonder – a one-stop shop for nifty gifties, décor, accessories and apparel. Shop and enjoy the warm welcome, complemtary lemonade, candy bar and even water and treats for your dog, there isn’t anything they haven’t thought of! For a perfect retail therapy pick-me-up, I love the citrus and bee motif of this decorative glass plate, for only $10. – Liz

THREE. J.Crew Vintage Cotton Tank — I am in love with these for summer! They fit just right. Unlike most soft cotton tanks I find, these are not too transparent or low-cut, but they do look and feel flattering. Definitely a staple worth buying in several colors. – Charli

FOUR. Petite Bow Bobbi – This bobby pin is dainty, flirty and sweet – and can serve so many purposes. Need to feel cuter or dress up date night? Pin this into your hair. Strays falling from your ponytail? Clip it adorably with this pin. At only $35, it’s definitely cheap and chic. – Connie

FIVE. Timex Originals Camper — There is just something so cute about this classic watch in girly pink color- right on trend this summer season (and let’s be honest, every season pink is in..which is every summer). I love the simplicity of the watch and how functional it is- the 24 hour dial? Genius. I’ll never have to do mental math to figure out what 20:45 translates to in AM/PM. Plus the straps are interchangeable so I can already imagine the color-blocking possibilities- orange, blue, yellow.. the list goes on. The best part? It’s only $50 which makes it totally accessible for anyone, even if you just want to try it for fun. – Carolyn
