Beauty, Skincare, SponsoredDedicated: Fourth of July Travel Essentials

Ahh Forth of July.. if there’s one holiday that screams basking in the sun for hours on end, this would be it.  Whether you’re going to be enjoying the Fourth on water (my favorite!) or at an outdoor bar or picnicking in the park, it is essential to pay extra attention to your skin.  In fact, even if you’re an “apply products during the morning and then forget about it all day” kind of gal, the all-day outdoor activities will definitely require dropping some essential products into your summer bag to go. So what are my must-haves? Read on to find out!

Simple Skincare Vital Vitamin Day Cream SPF 15:  This product tackles hydration needs and sun protection all in one, so use it and use it frequently throughout the day.  The SPF provides broad range UVA and UVB protection and Vitamin B5 and E helps condition the skin and keeping it look smooth and healthy for a naturally radiant look that screams summer beauty.  And don’t just limit using this product to your face- I use it to hydrate my shoulders, neck and decolletage as needed throughout the day.  I love that I can get my sun protection without that filmy white layer from most SPF products!

Band-Aids: These are must-haves when it comes to spending all day outdoors. Whether it’s to cover a foot blister from an unruly pair of flip flops, or dealing with random scrapes I always seem to be hunting for a band-aid when I’m out and about (never while at home). After having ducked into countless bodegas to buy them, I’ve finally learn to pack some into my day bag.

Simple Skincare Cleansing Facial Wipes: An absolute facial skincare essential when it comes to dealing sweat, melting makeup or when I just need a cool towel to refresh myself. They’re 100 percent oil and alcohol-free, so they’re gentle on my skin. Plus when I’m out all day, I even use these as wet wipes for my hands or as on-the-go cleanser when I’m not close to an actual sink.

Re-wetting Eye Drops & Contact Lenses: A long day out in the sun means that my eyes usually get dry after a few hours.  I use one-a-day- contact lenses so I always keep a backup pair in my bag for when my eyes start bugging me and also rewetting drops for when they just need a quick refresher.

Tinted Lipbalm:  Lipgloss gets too sticky and lipstick is way too high maintenance when you’re outdoors all day. I always have to bottle of Benefit’s classic Benetint Lip Balm with SPF 15 in my bag for long days out.  It kills 3 birds with one application- SPF, moisturizer and a pretty, low maintenance color that works for everyone.
