Since my nail polish obsession seems to show no signs of slowing down, I’m loving all some of their summer colors that I’ve finally gotten a chance to play around with. (Don’t even get me started on the fact that the fall ones are already out too. That’s unacceptable! It’s 104 degrees in Los Angeles as I’m typing this. Way too early to think about fall!) Julep is a brand that I discovered fairly recently and I’m loving all their new brights and fun pastels for the hot weather. Here are a few of my favorites from their new collection.
Tangerine is my color of the moment, so I got very excited when I saw Parker. It’s a golden tangerine creme – sort of like a subdued orange (although not too subdued…) Very, very pretty. Daisy is a bright lemon yellow creme, which doesn’t seem like the sort of shade I would like, but it’s just so fun and playful on toes that I couldn’t help but fall head over heels. I love to use really bright shades when I get a pedicure since I think I can get away with more of that on my toes. Plus, I almost think this one is “neutral” enough to be used year round. How much would I smile if I pulled off my boots in the middle of summer and spotted this on my toes? Answer: a lot! Robin is a Robin’s egg blue creme – again, the kind of color I love to wear on my toes, but this one could also go well on fingers too, for those of you who love blues. And if you love blues… Jessica is another one you’ll want to pick up. It’s a lot lighter than Robin – sort of a light baby blue creme – and it’s just a really pretty pastel shade. Very fresh and summery. You could pair it with Susie, a mint green creme. Susie reminds me of the shade of mint chocolate chip ice cream, my all time favorite flavor, so looking at it just makes me happy (and hungry!) These are all so fun, maybe I should do one of those pedicures where each toe is painted a different color!
Also new for summer is the America shade. It’s impossible not to feel patriotic at the moment with all of the Olympic coverage and wearing this is a great way to show off your pride. It’s a glittery red polish with flecks of blue and silver stars in it. So unique and cool! Plus, a portion of the sale proceeds from this shade will be donated to the National Women’s Sports Foundation. Who knows, maybe the Fab Five are already even wearing it. (And if they’re not, they should be!)
