Beauty, Celebrities, Los Angeles, Makeup — Oscar Beauty 2013: Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner
From Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence to Vanity Fair Oscar Party show stopper Selena Gomez, smoky eye makeup was all over the red carpet last night. (Love!)
Now, how do we get these sultry looks at home? Well, step one is to invest in a good, creamy long-wear liner. My favorite as of late is Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonion Clay Waterproof Liner. Celebrity makeup artist Jenn Streicher used it in Moonstone Brown on Gomez (above left), while celebrity makeup artist Kayleen McAdams used Onyx yesterday on Channing Tatum’s wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum (aka the luckiest girl alive).
Based on the best-selling Tarte smolderEYES Amazonion clay waterproof liner (which is a fat pencil), Skinny SmolderEYES comes in 10 gorgeous shades and is great for precisely lining the eyes all the way around and smudging outward. The result is a refined look that offers a great opportunity to play with color. And, since it’s waterproof, it won’t budge as easily as a non-waterproof soft kohl liner.
My current obsession is Sunstone Jade, which is an unbelievably intense, creamy emerald green. I often wear it alone, but for a more subtle look, I just blend it with shades of green, gold, peach or champagne eyeshadow. Of course, after watching the Oscars, I am now dying to buy Deep Amethyst and Slate so I can pull off Amanda Seyfried’s gorgeous lavender smoky eye now. Let the experiments begin!
