Great design has always been an obsession of mine, and since having a little one, my eyes have been opened to a whole new world of fashion, function, and versatility for the younger set. 7 A.M. Enfant’s French designer, Rebecca Campora, understands what a stylish and practical parent needs by anticipating trends and infusing her cutting edge sensibility. When buying baby stuff, I’ve learned that half of it you really don’t need, and the other half (or more like a quarter), you use constantly and thank your lucky stars that it’s there for you when you need it. Our cold-weather accessories from 7 A.M. fall into the beyond-necessary category, and are geniously well-designed to be lightweight, adaptable, and useful. As we ran around ice-covered Manhattan this weekend, I noticed 7 A.M. accessories on so many toasty babies, and they certainly kept us going from museums to dessert dates!

The Cygnet is  a reversible plush blanket-cover which slips over any stroller, carseat, or carrier in a matter of seconds to keep precious cargo warm and toasty. It even pops out as a blanket wherever and whenever needed. It’s light as a feather and tucks into its own compact carry case so it’s on call when wind, rain (it’s water-repellant!), and chills come knocking. A thoughtfully placed drawstring locks heat in while adjusting to any size, fitting newborns up to four years. The fluffiness comes from faux-down filling for heat retention while being soft and light enough to keep babies warm safely. The shell is silky soft and will never irritate even on bare skin. I’m able to clip it to the stroller with two or four strong velcro hook and loop straps, which frees me from relying on expensive custom sleeping bags that can only be used on one stroller. Side zippers allow either baby or parent’s hands to go in and out to function or adjust without releasing heat. I love the reversible factor too, so the color can change with the mood of the day. If it takes a spill or two, there’s no stress as it is machine washable. The Cygnet is one of those genius inventions that I now can’t imagine life without!

muffsWarmmuffs are something I appreciate in particular, because for some reason I can never remember to bring gloves out, and stubbornly pretend I don’t need them despite subzero temperatures. I also frequently need my bare fingers to manage things, and gloves just take too long to tug on and off (often losing a mate somewhere in the snow). The muffs are attached by velcro to the stroller handles, so they’re always ready to slide hands into and cozy up inside the fuzzy interiors. Parents need to stay warm too, and Warmmuffs keep fingers nimble to adjust that little zipper or screw on a nipple cap whenever needed. I even had a guy friend (a non-parent!) remark on how cool they look, so that says something about the sleek vinyl look. I’d recommend the dark navy color, which goes with any color combination and allows my hubby to push the stroller too. 7 A.M. Enfant’s contemporary concept brings together innovation, quality, form, function and unique looks.
