With one eye always on the runway, Butter London is label that we can count on to fuse fashion and Rock & Roll. Since Butter shades are created specifically for the runway, we know we’re on the cutting edge when new colors are released. I love getting creative with high-fashion shades which add edge to any ensemble, especially if I’m dressed in one of my many neutral or black ensembles I’ve been gravitating toward. The Boho Rock collection takes earthy neutrals to the next level with soft, shimmering shades that accentuate every skin tone.
The Lucy in the Sky shade of Nail Polish is aptly named as it’ll definitely give you a trip! Undertones are reminiscent of tangerine trees and marmalade skies, and a girl with kaleidoscope eyes. I applied three layers to get a more opaque look packed with disco-fun glitter, which shows off gold and silver tones on a rose pink base. Butter polishes are always carcinogen-free which means no formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, phthalates, or parabens. Since they are formulated to nourish and protect nails, rocking color doesn’t come at a cost of healthy nails.
Sometimes a quick dash of color and sparkle is the simplest and most effortlessly chic way to make a statement. To pair with Lucy in the Sky, taupe Cream Eye Shadow adds depth and shimmer to go with everything without being too glaring. I apply a line above my lashes with the soft-tip applicator and then blend with either a semi-firm brush or a fingertip. It definitely takes some practice to get the right amount of coverage and control, but the end product is a velvety glistening shade which lends subtle sophistication. I’ve also done some layering with a thin shade of the taupe shimmer going all the way up the lid and then adding some darker purple powdered color that blends easily, creating the perfect smokey eye! As with the nail laquer, additional layers add color intensity.
How to finish it off? I adore Butter’s Lippy Tinted Balm in the nude shade Nutter which incidentally is Brit slang for a crazy person! This balm has the moisture of a lip balm and the finish & color of lipstick. Nude lip shades highlight the glow of every skin tone (especially for the tan I’m planning on getting after winter), and are the ultimate chic look for the woman-on-the-go. Butter Lippy balms hydrate as they polish with a formula rich with avocado, mango seed, cocoa, and shea butter.
