Bath & Body, Beauty, Fitness & Health, MakeupThree Obsessions for Spring

hoodieI’ve been an avid fan of the women’s activewear line Graced By Grit for a while now and must share my latest obsession from their collection, the Head to Sea Hoodie. On every run this spring, I don what I refer to as my “second skin,” a super lightweight but hard-working piece of engineering which moves the way I move to allow for the most efficient workout possible. It’s perfect in the morning when there’s still a bit of a chill in the air, but even when I start sweating, I don’t feel sticky or heavy. Thumb loops keep it in place during vigorous activity while the shape flatters my body with its form-fitting longer length. I love that the UPF 50+ rating saves me from having stubborn tan lines or having to slather smelly sunscreen all over.

Of course, the athletic ladies behind Graced By Grit have thought of everything through years of working out, including hidden pockets on each arm for a smartphone, keys, or a credit card for that hard-earned smoothie post-workout! Even the cords on the hood are thoughtfully designed so the ends don’t disappear into their sleeves in the wash. The hoodie comes in fun colors, but I’m partial to my vibrant and edgy coral which is turned up a notch with extra brightness. I’m also more than visible to drivers with the reflective zipper and logos. The line is very form-fitting, so I recommend going up a size if you’re in between. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, Graced by Grit is positively addictive!

limeAfter my workouts, my endorphins have me on a high and post-shower, I feel amazing. I reward myself by indulging in L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Ultra Soft Cream in Zesty Lime which is so uplifting for my senses! The soft Shea Butter is in a rich, velvety cream that envelops me like a blanket. The cream absorbs well as it nourishes my skin, soothing it from any elements I’ve just exposed it to during the workout. No matter how tired my body is, the invigorating fragrance of the lime zest refreshes me and leaves a lingering scent which I enjoy whiffs of all day. L’Occitane’s responsible sourcing obtains shea butter from Burkina Faso, harvested in a sustainable and fair partnership with the women who produce it. I’m hoping that L’Occitane keeps this in the rotation, as I don’t think I can go without it!

palmGetting in shape feels great on the inside and out, and with renewed confidence this spring, I can make the most dramatic statement possible with the Palm Springs Trio. A nifty set of three brightly colored moisturizing lipsticks from Prescriptives takes no time to splash on, but the colors are ultra feminine and empowering. Although I normally shy away from anything too bright for fear of crossing the line into gaudy, these shades push the envelope while staying young and hip. I love each of the three bright personalities, and the moisture-rich formula is pigment-packed and never feels flaky. I loved using the Resort Pink shade while I was on my resort holiday because it’s so effortless but chic. In the mornings with white linen pants and a tank top, I’d throw my hair back in a pony tail and let the lipstick do the talking! The color plays off of the water’s turquoise hues and piercing blue sky to complement the most casual outfit. Also fun is the Chutney shade which has just a touch of sparkle on a warm base and Coral Belle which is a bit more peachy with a delicate shimmer. The trio comes in a cute-as-a-button polka dot mini case, a cinch to tote around!
